Default ATG Enabler Alert!!

I don't get to enable often, but I got an email from The Tape Depot about an eBay sale they are having. They have tape guns for as low as $25.88! I bought one from them about 2 months ago with 12 rolls of 1/4'' tape for about $48 with free shipping. The deals they have now are even better. If you've been wanting one of these, now might be a good time to buy.

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/TheTapeDepot

Hope this helps someone,

Default Run, Don't Walk!

I just bought this item from the Tape Depot on eBay. At $20.99 with free shipping, that makes it $1.75 per roll.

This is a real bargain. The last order I placed directly with them I paid $8 more (higher price + shipping.

I've used this tape for about a year with the ATG-50 and just love it.

Thank you! I just ordered some refills to use with my ATG 714.

FWIW, I have the ATG 50 that they sell and I HATE it! I gave it to my kids to use. The tap runs on the far right side of the roller and if you are right handed, you need to be a contortionist to see where you are putting the tape down on your project. :(

Does this tape really work good in the ATG 714 and is it similar to the ones bought through the 3M company?

I ordered Thursday and got mine Saturday.

I love this tape. It is super-sticky and my cards don't fall apart.

I've never used ATG before, only either Tombow or the cheap adhesive from Walmart, but I'm making a coworkers wedding invitations and want to use a good adhesive. Is this what you would recommend, and if so, what is the difference between the ATG 50 and the ATG 714?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Dawn -

Check the width of the tape. 714 = 1/4", 700=1/2"-3/4" (1/4" adapter available), 750=?

OK, some one enabled me, so I have to pass on the favor. The sale that was posted here was for 1/4 inch rolls, which I don't use, but I checked out the guy's store. OMG! I got six 1/2 inch rolls for $15.50 plus free shipping! I thought that was awesome. Today I got an email they are having an even better sale. For those of you that use the 1/4 inch rolls they have 12 rolls for $15 plus $4.95 priority shipping. Here is the link:

Talking

Dawn,
You little enabler you..;)

I did the $25.88 for the ATG gun free shipping and the 12 rolls for $15 w/ $4.95 shipping.. That total was about $3+cheaper than doing the $48.88 set. Every $ you save helps.

Thanks for alert,

JOY

I was just talking with a friend today about how the ATG refills with shipping were getting ridiculous! So glad to see this now I don't have to switch to another adhesive! Is it the same permanent we used to spend a LOT more for? The shipping was killing me...

these are not scotch 3m. I have used the scotch for years and am going to try this one...just finished ordered. It is 1/2 the price including shipping of what I usually pay for Scotch so I'm willing to try it out. If I like it, I will buy more since I usually by 24 rolls a year.

Thanks pammers!!! I am thinking it is worth a try too. I usually order 12 rolls 2x a year & the shipping is ridiculous. Sounds like we buy from the same over priced place :(

ps. Love the avatar--- I am so ready!!! I'm a silly twi-mom!!!

I have used both and prefer the 3m enough that I don't mind paying extra. The other didn't seem to work as smoothly for me and "buggered" up a lot. Maybe I just had a couple of bad roles, but don't care to try again.

I ordered yesterday and it should be here Sat. I've not ordered from them before but at that price, I couldn't afford NOT to give it a try. It's 1/2 the price of what I've been paying (and they've been raising their prices a lot), so I'm hoping this stuff works for me.

Thanks for the tip. Mine came really fast. This tape seems to be thinner than the 3M but it still works on my cards.

Thanks for sharing your experience!!!

Hmmmm, I remember buying the regular 3M and not loving it compared to the gold 3M.....cuz it seemed to not run as smooth and it buggered up a bit....I love how the 3M is pretty close to sticky strip adhesive wise too....

Hi All! I am seriously considering buying an ATG gun...I am wondering though, how long does a roll of tape last?
Does it stick well for making cards?
I would hate for my cards to fall apart!!
What are some of the pros & Cons
Any input would be appreciated!!
Thank you!!!

If you make cards and or scrapbook and feel you could do better than the current adhesive you use then I'd say you should get an ATG gun.

How long each roll lasts really depends on how much adhesive you use but as a comparison the standard Tombow mono adhesive used it about 13 yards and one roll of ATG 1/4 3M gold is 36 yards.

As for price....here in Canada the ATG 3M roll is more money per roll but less money per yard.

As for adhesion.....the ATG 3M rolls blow the Tombow out of the water. Not only does it adhere way better but it comes off the roll clean, neat and complete. Unlike the mono which will ball and often you don't get all the adhesive off but only part.

I've tried many different adhesives and IMHO the ATG gun used with the SM gold rolls is the best quality for the best price.

I've been using my ATG for well over a year and couldn't be happier!!

I know there are many threads on SCS that probably give a better overview of ATG guns and tape....hope this helped though ;)

I wish my brain would allow me to actually use one!! I got the yellow one a couple of years ago and managed to mangle 2 rolls and never got it to work :(.. maybe someone should do an ATG for dummies book or something (for ME)

do you guys think the red one is easier/better for the adhesive impaired like myself???

Man, my ATG 714 still does not work right. 3M sent me a part for it and I tested and it worked well. Was not stamping much for awhile and now I am still having problems. Does anyone know if 3M is still dealing with those defects? I have been meaning to call 3M.
