I know that last year when Laura ran out of funds to keep the site up, a bunch of us made donations to continue it for another year. I also know that it was an ex-husband who knew the program to update it...or he possibly wrote it? I am not sure on that one, so it could just be that Laura wants out, and is tired of dealing with it at all...
That is totally up to her to close it without a guilt trip by any of us...but she may be convinced to pass it along (or even sell??) it to someone else???

Oh that is too bad, but it is totally up to Laura what she does with the site. I appreciated it while it was up and even donated when she needed help, but I guess all good things come to an end. Maybe someone else will come up with a similar site.
Was this somethine Laura could have passed on to someone else who was willing to run it? I'm not that computer savvy so I don't know if you can hand it off to someone.

I hope so, but would they not run into the same issue with people not donating. The only way I see around that is to posbily charge a yearly fee for using the site and have it linked to a log in. I think the last time the OP posted about needing funding most of everyone (including me) donated like $5-10.
On another note, I was able to grab the color codes if someone is going to start up a new site.
I agree that there is a cost to run something like that type of site. Can't say for myself how much that would be....
Maybe some kind of pay to use would be possible.
i don't think pay to use would work... you just wouldn't get people using it then... but for those of us that really use it and love it, to donate to run it, that's another thing.

Oh my goodness, whatever will I do without this sight? It was the best and I sure would pay to use it if I had to but alas, I didn't know and it is gone. Boo hoo.
I just posted a message stating how much I will miss the color combo site but didn't send my thanks to Laura for having it for our use for so long. I did donate at one time but would glady have donated more to keep it going. I totally don't know how to get involved in anything like that but if someone would be able to do it, I'd certainly contribute to the cost.
I don't know if you all noticed but the site is already gone and Laura hasn't been back to respond to any of the posts here. As far as I know, she also hasn't responded to any emails. I would have gladly hosted the site for free as we have a server we use for ministry, business and other things but no response. It was a great tool but alas, like all things, it's history.
I am still around. I've been wading through a bunch of e-mails about people wanting to purchase the code for the site. Right now I'm trying to determine who the best person would be. I think I have it figured out.
Don't worry. ALL the combos are safe as is the rest of the site. It took some arm twisting of my Ex to get it all off before the site went down, but I managed to get him to do it.
I am planning on letting someone else take over the site, it's just a matter of getting things transferred.
YAY!!!
Thank you Laura!!
I have no idea what it takes to manage this site, but I have LOVED it for years! I'm very happy (as I'm sure EVERYONE ELSE IS TOO) that you have decided to let someone else take it over!
THANK YOU for all these years of having this wonderful site for all of us!
Wishing you all the best in your days ahead!

Laura, Just a big thank-you from me for all your hard work in establishing the site to start with! I can't even imagine the hard work and dedication it took! Wishing you the best in whatever you decide to do.......

Laura---I just want to say thank you for all the time and effort you have put into that site for all these years. I never truly thanked you, because it was just so easy to pop over there and get the inspiration I needed and move on to making the card or whatever, but without your site my crafting would not have been so easy. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I am so glad you are taking the time to update us...and by all means...I hope you get something out of it when you hand it over. It has a VALUE!

Subscribing so I'll know where the site moves to. Thank you very, very much for all the time and money you've poured into this....I hope you can see what it has meant to so many of us color-challenged crafters. You have one heck of a fan base!
Laura - I too want to thank you for all of your time and energy in providing this site for us. It has been a huge help for me in my designs. I wish I could afford to pay you for it. I am so glad to hear it will be coming back! Good luck with whatever you choose to do next.

I was wondering why SCS couldn't take over hosting the site as a "resource". Just a thought......did anyone ask them?
Not sure Splitcoast could take it over---as it truly is a Stampin'Up color resource. I'm sure it would mean having other companies paper color combo sites as well.
Thank you Laura for sharing this wonderful resource. I am color coordinated challenged and when I found this site (just recently) I was oohing and aughing.
Even though I am chiming in here - it bears repeating: "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!"
You've been through a lot, and have your plate full now, but please know how many people value what you've given us and wish you nothing but the best for the future!
