Ladies......Just an FYI....I was at my local Michaels this afternoon and tried to use my 50% coupon for a magazine.

I was told that you can no longer use the coupons for magazines. At first you could not, then they changed it that you could, now it's back to NO for magazines or books of any kind.

Hey Ladies....At my local Michaels they have Martha Stewart punches and borders on clearance for $5 and $9 respectively. The cashier also let me use my 50% coupon and they ended up costing me about $2.50 and $4.50. There were 4 different punches and 3 different borders or visa versa. The cashier said coupons are good on clearance items because that is their "regular" price. Hope someone can use this info.

That was a great deal on the MS punches and borders. I just returned from Michaels and I got the Cuttlebug for $39.99. I'm a happy camper. It is $109 (regular price) in Canada, but thank goodness we are close enough to the US to go down there to shop. It states right on the coupon that no magazines or books are included.

I went to Micheal's yesterday and got that great buy on the Christmas Stamps.I place a order with SU for my Thanksgiving Stamps they should be back Monday.

Your welcome everyone! I know how a 50% off coupon can really help a gal! In reference to using it for the mags/books, I think it depends on your individual store. Right now, mine is still taking them. Each store is different, for instance, mine doesn't have the Martha Stewart punches on clearance, darn it!

I was reading the post and thought you ladies might want some insight into Michaels. I work in one of the Canadian stores so I would like to help you out with some information....

Coupon:
If you go to Michaels.com and sign up for the newsletter/ weekly advertisement you will start to receive not only the flyer into your email but you will also receive coupons like 20% off your entire regular priced purchase and the 50% coupon that started this posting.

Magazines:
The company just brought it back saying that the coupons could not be used on books, magazines, and kits that are in a book form. My suggestion to everyone who reads this is to write to Michaels and let them know what you think. The staff working in the store are just as annoyed as you the customer since we too use the coupons to buy our hobby magazine of choice.

Thank you very much for this info. I signed up for email in the store at least 4 months ago and have never received anything. I will now do it on-line.

It never occured to me to use the coupons on magazines as Michaels doesn't stock either the Canadian Scrapbooker or Take Ten which are my two favorites.
