Yesterday I was in Joann's looking for something to spend my 40% off coupon on, and was told by another customer that the EK punches were only $4.97. I could not believe that so I asked a sales gal...she came and scanned and they did come up $4.97!!! This is what I purchased:
16 ea. - Large Edger Punches (reg. $18 ) pd $5
1 ea. - Reg. Edger Punch (reg. $15) pd $4
3 ea. - Layering Punches (reg. $20) pd $5
2 ea. - Dimensional Flower punches (reg. $18 ) pd $5
1 ea. - Large Decorative corner punch (reg. $10) pd $3
1 ea. - Large Garland punch-Snowflake (reg. $15) pd $5
....All this for $128 including taxes!!!!
The sales gal stated she didn't know what was going on, whether someone programed the prices incorrectly or if it was a clearance thing. She said they just received the punches and display a few days ago!!!!
BTW - The Joann's I went to is in Southern Illinois. FYI

Wow, this is fantastic. But I was wondering what the heck are going to do with 16 large edger punches. Gifts for friends???

I was in my Joann's yesterday and the punches were 40% off but certainly not the $4.97 price sad to say. They did however have a good sale. My Joann's just started to carry the Spellbinder's dies. I checked the Martha Stewart punches because someone on another thread said they were discontinuing them and had them really on sale but mine did not. I still spent $$$$s
I found the same thing out yesterday, when my friend said she wanted to visit the Joann's on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT. When I saw the EK Punches, I got palpitations!!! And the prices were just like the first poster said...."UNBELIEVABLE" !!! I bought a few myself...and the selection of papers they had were outstanding!! Worth the trip!! I spent $40.00 there myself with the use of a 40% coupon also. My friend that introduced me to "stamping" created a PAPERCRAFTING MOM-STER !!!
I was at JoAnn's yesterday and they only had the 40% off on punches also. But that store, in N. central Ma., is the one where all the Martha Stewart items are on clearance, so I spent my money on her stuff.

Lucky, lucky!!! What a great deal. I love it when you are at the right place at the right time. Earlier this year, I was at Target (just an impromptu stop) and made my way to the scrapbooking section... just to take a peek (don't we always stop at the craft section of a store?!?!?!?). I found Scotch tape runners and replacements for $1.50. It wasn't listed as a clearance item. That's what the regular price tag said. I checked by running it through their scanner. Yep, $1.50. So, I bought whatever was remaining. I ran into another Target store that wasn't too far and it was marked at $6.00+.

I know that school is just starting and some may have a few more days before starting. I have found some terrific deals when all the school supplies go on clearance. A couple years ago, I bought composition books (larger ones) for 10 cents each!!! I can't remember which store it was, but it was either Target or Office Depot. I also bought reception pens, crayons (to make coloring kits for kids), paper, storage items, etc.
Just thought I would mention this since these items will go on clearance soon.
