Addicted to Rubber Stamping is closing. I received an email stating everything is 30% off and all sales are final. The owner has health issues which is what is behind their closing their online sites.
Addicted to Rubber Stamps and Addicted to Scrapbooking have announced that they are closing. The owners have indicated that health reasons are the cause. A liquidation sale is being held starting at 30% off now:
That is really too bad. I haven't bought anything from them in a long time, but I loved to browse their site occasionally since they had some older stamps that I couldn't find anywhere else.
Plus I liked how their search feature would try to guess what I was looking for. Type in 'cat' (for instance) and see how many different things they come up with.
'Addicted to Rubber Stamps' going out of business.
I just got an email from this company saying that they are going out of business. Everything at least 30% off. The owner has health issues that are getting advanced and he is no longer able to run the business. I have ordered from them twice, so I must've gotten on their email list...
Just in case anyone wants to go look around.

I love that store! I just got home after a long day and that's the first email I saw. It was my go-to store when I wanted stamps from a bunch of different manufacturers but didn't want to have to pay individual shipping costs from each and every one, especially when I might only want one stamp from this one and one stamp from that one. I could always search the site and come up with stamps that fit my needs perfectly from companies that I had never heard of before. I can feel the withdrawal pains right now!
I got that email too and went to the site to shop. Be forewarned: things are going very fast! By the time I got to the checkout, a couple of stamps in my cart were no longer available. So if you think you might want something, I'd suggest shopping now and not waiting or it will be gone!
I got that e-mail this morning. I am SO sad to see such a great company closing. jinglesmom is right, order now. I also had things in my cart that were no longer available by the time I got to check out this morning.
I will miss this store. They displayed the products very well and had detailed descriptions. I loved the feature that showed the size of the stamps! Why doesn't every retailer detail the size of stamps? I didn't see the email until Wednesday and EVERYTHING in my 3 page wish list was already sold out. There was nothing left in the store that I wanted, darn! I'm sorry to see them go.

Just got an e-mail stating that Paper Maniac is going out of business too! No explanation but everything is also 30% off. Is this a sign of the times to come for scrapbooking?

Well this sucks! They shipped to Canada at a decent price and they offered great service! I wish I had some money to take some of that stock off their hands.

Oh no!! :( I was just about to post a thread about this . Does anyone know why they don't sell Lawn Fawn anymore for 30% off? Just too sad, too sad. :(

I know! I was shocked too when I got the email yesterday. I did make a purchase with them. I do think Scrapbooking and stamping are here to stay. It's just going to be how the companies handle the stock.

It is really sad that ATRS & ATSB are going outta business. One
Thing I find even sadder is all of small mom and Pop stamp companies
That went outta business after ATRS & ATSB online store opened. Now
Where are we gonna be able to get our stamps and supplies
Other than eBay and Amazon I guess. Another thing that makes me
Sad is the StamPing Magazines are disappearing and the few that
Are left are about 1/4 the size they used to be 10 yrs ago. Are
We really losing our craft??? I have been stamping since 1997 and have
Taught classes in Hobby Lobby's & Michael's in OK & CA. I am very sad :(
Two of our LSS (Columbus, OH) have announced closing in the past few days and I know Dayton has lost three scrap/stamp LSS in the last few months. I think it's a combination of the economy and the ability of LSS to keep newest products in stock. I know that if I want new releases I can get them online and often on sale.
With gas prices so high I'm looking online at shipping charges for most things I buy before I head out on a 20-30 minute drive around the city to buy something. Often I can get it shipped to home for less than the cost of gas.
i don't think we are losing our craft at all, it is just changing with the times. i agree with leslie - with the cost of gas shipping is easily justifiable. plus online prices are often less and the selection is often better. i think there will still be plenty of places to shoip for everything we need/want. i think with all stores/things we buy - the internet has just changed the way people shop. mainly because before the internet, i went to a store and i assumed that everything they had on display was all there was available. now with the internet i go to a store and i know there are more products available than what i see so i go to the internet to shop instead. it would be really really difficult for all the brick n morter stores to keep all of those products in stock AND compete with the online prices. online just doesn't have the kind of overhead a brick n morter does. i don't think this makes anything right or wrong tho.
