I can't believe it, but I ACTUALLY made my own blog banner! Woo Hoo! I owe it all to this site:

She gives simple directions on how to place it in your HTML code (which I am clueless about).

Check out the instructions -- I bet it will help you figure it out! I resized my blanner image (made in Adobe Photoshop 7) to 625 pixel width. I inserted it just as she explains and it worked. I had to do the resizing a couple of times before it finally fit. I also put the image on photobucket.com (I don't know if having it saved on the web helps or not). Good luck!
