Lightbulb Make the Holidays Special for Recovering Soldiers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The holidays are fast approaching and we can make a difference in someone's life simply by sending a card to a recovering soldier, or two or three! This Christmas and Holiday Season please make an extra card or two to send to recovering soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We can use our talents to make a difference...all you have to do is send one or two cards to these men and women...it's a small token for what they sacrifice for us all! We are blessed to have service members willing to put their lives on the line for our freedom and for the freedom of this great nation. So please, lets all try to send a card to a recovering service member. We can make a difference and touch someone's heart! Let's let them know we care and are grateful for them....

Here's the address where you can send cards:

A Recovering Service Member
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20307

I was so excited about this idea, and then I found this thread here at SCS elsewhere.

See Post # 2 and 3. How sad, but I understand. Anyone know of any other way to send Christmas Cards to recovering Soldiers? When is the deadline for sending Cards to Iraq?

Thanks for any help and the ideas. Love to find something for the ladies and youth at church to be involved in.

Hey ladies, there's a master list of current card drives in the Need a Lift forum.

Several are for service members. Most seek blank cards they can use to send their loved ones, but there is one seeking signed cards with encouraging notes for care packages that get sent to soldiers recovering in military hopitals around the word.

Thanks for thinking of the troops, y'all!
