I'm sorry, my DH doesn't get it, my family doesn't get it, and very few of my friends get it (where do I find my friends?!!? LOL), but I got picked to be on my very first Design Team and I'm super excited!!!
It's for Go. Be Creative. and if you're into scrapbooking, you should check them out. If you're not into scrapbooking, you should check them out because their kits can be used for alterables, cards, stationary, etc. and I'm pretty sure that they picked me because I bring that dimension to their DT table. I do scrap, but I've been much more obsessed with making things for other people, not myself. Well, now that's going to change and I'm going to get scrappin'!

Congrats! I too hope to be a part of a DT someday and like you, I'm not sure my hubby or friends quite get it either so I understand completely.

CONGRATS! That's awesome. I totally understand what you mean that other people don't get it. If they are not into this awesome craft they wouldn't understand. My DH supports what I like but does not get the whole DT thing, but this is the right place to come to chat!
Again congrats! It's great to reach your goals! And before you know it companies will be knocking down your door!
There was a general thread asking whether it was possible to get chosen for a design team without already being on another DT. That thread was saying the competition is so stiff for those without prior DT experience. You are living proof that it can and does happen. Congratulations.
Woohoo! What an accomplishment! Congratulations of the highest level. It's hard when family doesn't understand, but glad you shared with us so we can celebrate with you.

I give all the credit for my "luck" at getting on this design team to Lainey over at Go. Be Creative. It takes a lot to say that you want people that aren't on design teams 'cause all the "big names" are on all of the "big name" stamp company design teams, and as far as srapping goes, I think it takes even more to be on one of theirs - like Chatterbox is having a call now, and I highly doubt they will be taking anyone that has never been on a design team much less never been published "for real".
Anyway, never give up. I totally understand the feeling of rejection, and the thought of "why even bother trying," and by no means am I an old pro because I'm on one design team now. I may never be accepted to another one, but it is worth the success to keep on trying, so keep on keepin' on!!! ;)

(I know just how you feel; I haven't bothered to tell my son and husband I was chosen for a design team, either, because it won't mean a thing to them... but I'm excited!)
Congratulations, that is very exciting!!! I am not sure anyone I know would "get it" either, but it is still a personal goal that I hope to achieve one day.....so from all of us who "get it" WOOOO HOOOO FOR YOU!!!!
