Still, I don't think that for 10 yards less, paying $1 less is that much of a deal when you break it down by the yard. It IS still a better deal than a lot of stores, but hard to pay when I think of the past deal

I just had to write you because we share the same name. Hi Isabel, my name is Isabel too! I don't know many Isabel's. I go by Liz (it's along story). In any case, I have'nt seen the new catty yet. can't wait!
This is crazy, I feel like one of those people who will tent outside all night for something? Good to meet you!

LIZZIE!!! I have so many nicknames and that is one of them! Nice to meet you! I haven't met anyone else that has the same name (I have a long story about my name as well) so maybe we can send each other a private message with a history about our names...how cool is that!

Thanks for writing!

I put down that I love it, and i do love all the new things in it, but I am not loving the price increase. I can't believe that definition set back by the alphas costs almost 50.00!!
I guess I am having a hard time because I have unmounted my stamps, and seeing the price increase made me cringe!
It just all adds up!

I like the new set of stamps that go with "Voila". I like the jumbo eyelets and the crop-a-dile, but will try to get them with hostess benefits from a stamp camp.

I wouldn't know since I haven't gotten the thing yet! It's Friday for goodness sakes, 2 days before you can start selling and I don't have my catalog!! I'm more than a little irritated that we don't get more of a preview to be prepared for our upcoming workshops. Sorry for the rant, I'm just a little fwus****ed (as my son used to say).

Default I like it!

The catty fits my opinion of any book - as long as I can walk away feeling like I can use at least 50% of it, I'm happy. Maybe my expectations are too low, but I try to remember that they are reaching a broad audience and trying to satisfy the likes of everyone, not a select genre. I love the new In Colors and cannot wait to order them - again - half of them, not all of them, ha ha :-)

You're right, I am now trying to remember that they are targeting a larger audience than just me... there are a lot of goodies that I do like.

Thanks to all who have helped me put things in perspective. It isn't all about me

Pretty underwhelmed-found only about $200.00 worth I may buy and almost half of that is from last year. Too much weight on kiddy graphics and doodle/double drawings. I do like the new in colors even though there is no purple and the textured solid paper looks beautiful. Even though I usually don't buy 12/12 I can't believe they cut so many out. If they had to cut one size out they should have cut the 8.5x11 ince you could always make an 8.5x11 page from the 12x12 but not the other way around. Also, while my demo keeps trying to explain the theory behind the simply sent sets, I still think they should offer the stamps separately for those who already have lots of paper/inks/accessories. Or for those who don't like the autumn color combos so prevalent in those sets. Can't believe the catty doesn't officially drop til Sunday and my question is "when is the winter mini coming out?"

I was worried about the new catalog but I love it all and I am really impressed with the new stamps and wheels, new colors, new accessories, and new papers. I like not feeling so overwhelmed by all the stuff in the once a year catalog and having so many mini catalogs come out. It has to be hard to stay ahead of the trends and keep up with new stuff for SU and I think they do a fantastic job keeping our interest and getting our money, lol, too. I wont be buying everything because I have so much already but I have come around to the designer papers and am anxious to try the textured papers and brads too. I also like a lot of the new wheels. I am definitely not disappointed in the new catty!!!!!

My main complaint is that all the flower sets look so similar. They all are very bold, with not much detail. The only variation seems to be the number of petals and the size of the flowers. This year my wish list is longer on the accessories side than than stamp sets. Oh well, this will give me a chance to play more with the older, detailed style of sets that I prefer.

Now that I have looked through it a few more times I am finding a little bit more that I like. I am finding sets that i think are new but they aren't. Somehow they got overlooked in the latst catty. I thnk that is one of the plusses of having 2 catties a year. Sets are more noticeable. I think I overlooked them because of the minis. I was going through them more than the big catty. I love how the bottom of some of the pages show what punches, designer papers and other embellishments go good with some of the stamps...which were used in the samples. I guess it's not so bad after all.

I got my catalog today from my demo. And I have to say I like it better than last year's catalog. The cards and projects are much better this year. There are not as many stamp sets that are calling my name this year, but that's ok with me because I couldn't afford all of the ones I wanted last year anyway. I will say I love this year's In Colors much more than last years. And there are plenty of new punches which are must haves as well. All in all, I think I can find enough to fill 6 months worth of orders before the next catalog comes out, let alone a mini in there as well.

I have to agree with you. I think I already have sooo much and I haven't even used all of it yet. I'm sure eventually I will want something else, but nothing I couldn't live without now.

I have to say I was really disappointed in the new catalog. Not too many things I "have to have" like last year. Not a decent butterfly or flower in it IMO. On the plus side I won't be spending so much money! I still wonder why they discontinued the gold, silver and copper cords.

I LOVE the new catty! I resigned as a demo a couple months ago and, it's probably just as well, because I could see myself going broke fulfilling my wish list. As a customer, I'll just order a little bit of my list every month since I don't have the discount anymore. I am a bit surprised at how high some of the stamp set prices are now, but that'll help me to control myself.

I just got thru with my first look thru!!
I like the new format and lay out..
VERY dissapointed in the Christmas sets.. I only see one or two I want. I have most of them..
I do LOVE some of the new wheels... I love wheels!
NOT enough flower sets for me. Way too many circles and swirls. I love them just way to many for my taste.
I love Zoofari.
But thrilled with background stamps or Alphbets sets.
All in all I'd rate this catalog Very Good.

I liked some things. I was hoping for a good dog set. Maybe next time. Also was hoping for more art not so much doodleing. There are things I really liked though. I love the ribbons, and the design paper is nice. I am excited about the brad maker. Glad it's only for six months.

Well, I actually LIKE the new catty. I like the new accessories and greater selection of papers. I am not 'wowed' by many of the stamps sets though. I like the new layout, I think it is more user friendly for new stampers who have difficulty knowing what to buy to coordinate with the sets they purchase. I am not crazy about the western-style stuff, but I live in Wisconsin...and probably don't have a big need for it! As a demo, I miss being able to buy 12x12 in EACH color...I am not a fan of 'multi-packs'. I also will miss not being able to buy the larger spools of grosgrain...but realize this is better for he customers. After all, the catty is for them as much as it is for the demo's!! I like the ribbons being renamed to match the color.

At first glance, I like it much better than last year's catty...and I know some of the sets will grow on me as I see all your wonderful and inspirational samples right here on SCS!!!

Ditto. I also did not like the accesories placed at the bottom to busy and confusing for this girl.

I'm not wowed at all either. its ok, there are some sets that I will end up getting, and some may grow on me, but it was like flipping through a magazine, no big deal really. Price increases definitly suck! TAC has NOT raised their prices (THANK GOODNESS) since their prices already ROCK, so I am really looking forward to seeing their new catty now. I may reconsider my previous descision to leave TAC now

I dunno...maybe because I still don't have a lot, but I really did like the previous catty more. I DO love the accessories such as the DP, brads, etc. Bummed about the organdy ribbon. I use that A LOT!!! Not sure if I will like the taffeta. The organdy sort of added a soft "extra".

Too many "doodles" for me...has anyone seen that fishing one? Bleah! However, I am still buying...LOL I guess I, myself, choose category three...didn't see anything that really wowed me. I also didn't like the Christmas sets...not a really nice religious one as in previous years.

Sigh....as always, I am sure that someone will WOW me with their creative ways of using their stamps and I will want it more than ever...isn't that always the case? Those of you that still don't have the catty...it's almost here! Just a few more hours and it will be posted on the web.

Smile catty look

I looked at my catty last night with my demo, and I liked it!~ There were a few themes that were overdone, like the wheels with all of the words, but I liked the layout. I think the bottom row tie in is a GREAT idea, especially for new stampers, but it needs to be a clearer... I'm sure it will be over time.

I love the new ribbon, the in colors, the paper and the punches. I could easily spend $300 dollars this moment. I was curious about the cowboy stamps, would I ever use it? I am tempted, and like others, can't wait to see what other SCSer's do with the sets. I do miss sets that are more like all natural, but I think we may see them in January.

I do like a smaller catalog because I can wrap my mind around it as opposed to the huge catalogs where there was so much stuff. I did think they did a few too many samples in the in colors especially since the colors are only around for a year.

My biggest curiosity, however, is ... what do you do with a hat pin?? Are people really going to make them?

The thing I like most about the caty is the new textured cardstock, the Designer Paper....especially the large choice of colors in the Prints Designer Series, punches, ribbon...especially that they matched all of the new In Color, On Board stuff.

One thing I wish there was more of is sets that I can use in scene cards but I know SU doesn't really encourage much out of the box stamping and likes to keep things simple. That's OK!!

I received my catty from my demonstrator yesterday, have gone through it a half a dozen times and I am not one bit impressed with it. There are two sets from last year that I will be getting. I agree about the ribbons. . .less yardage, so in essence the price is higher, even though it has gone down a dollar. I think some of the items are over priced. I can't wait to see the gallery once the uploads start. That could very well change my mind on a lot of the stamp sets. I know last year it did. I am glad to see that the round tab punch is in because I didn't get it with this last mini and I do like the Photo Corners punch.

A Tad Disappointed

I must say I was also a tad disappointed. I agree that the 12x12 should come in indiivdual colors. The in colors are pretty, but not as good as the last set. I also think the stitched ribbon should come in more colors than just the in colors. The price increase is too much!!! I would also have liked to see some girly sets. The simply scrappin kits are over priced!! Where are the alphabet sets????? TOO FEW!!

I DO LIKE the new punches and matching colored ribbon. The wheels are also better this time around. I will look forward to January for sure!!

Cool

It's hard to be objective when you don't have the hard copy in your hands, but my initial reaction is "OK." I agree with the person who said that when we see the cards using the various sets, we may have second thoughts. That's certainly what happened to me with the Preview of Baroque Motifs. Once I saw the spectacular cards in the gallery, I fell in love with a set I had previously ignored. Since I don't like to color, I was glad to see some new solid stamps in the new catalog; and I think there were plenty of outline stamps to satisfy those of us who aren't "coloring challenged."

I love this years in colors. Last years-meh.

I'm in between the two middle poll choices. I like it. Don't love it, but not disappointed either. My orders will probably be stocking up on more basic supplies- as I think the stamps are priced out of my reach.

I have mixed feelings:
-I was glad to see some of the stuff from the minis made it that I hadn't purchased.
-LOVE the cowboy stuff...and, being a mom of a boy and no girls <yet?> I was glad to see more versatile things.. I felt last year had TOO MUCH girl stuff and not enough boy
-There are a LOT of similar sets... ie flowers and pieces.
-I love the priceless, wing it, illuminations stamps that are kind of.. gypsy (along with baroque).
-I thought there was more potential for boatloads of love but they didn't do enough.
-I agree- not enough alphabets.
-However, the paper and colors are awesome and I love the simply scrappin sets. I am very happy with that stuff and in a sad way, kind of glad that there aren't too many amazing sets as I wouldn't have enough money to get them all
-I hope there are good Christmas stuff coming soon cause not that happy with what they had. They need to bring back some of the older holiday sets or make similar styles, including for Halloween. I just bought give thanks and loads of love and am glad I did because really, there isn't anything comparable in this catty.

Just my 2 cents!

IMO this catty has the best samples yet. But why aren't the designers of those samples credited??? I'm sorry for them, I'd love to know who created them.

There are a few sets I loved but overall I'm not thrilled with it. Especially with the amount of sets that were retired, it just seems really out of balance. I'm really questioning a number of retirees and their successors, for example, "peace be unto you" for "peace to the world"?? WTH?!

I am not WOWed by anything except the paper. I love the new designer papers. I could just spend my money on that and a couple of new punches. Not any stamp sets that I want.
