Guess the reason so many stamp companies are popping up is that we all like different things. I think the new max and milly are very cute. Not interested in lilly and milo. kim

I agree...it's great that there are so many new stamp companies! But, with these....they do look alike and the names are nearly the same....I think it would have been a good idea to name them differently...it's a little confusing.
Hi, I don't think they look anything like Lilly & Milo and they are much, much cuter. As for the names they were chosen by members on a UK craft forum :p X
Those images are awful cute - they remind me of a series of book when I was a kid - by Joan Walsh Anglund - I loved her illustrations.. so sweet
Maybe it is just the two eyes that makes me think of her books when I see the May and Milly stamps
Does anyone else remember her books or am I just showing my age?
I loved these books and her drawings.......I used to try to copy her stuff all the time, this is exactly what I thought of when I saw those stamps.....I think I need them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Max and Milly are what they are these type of designs are very popular in Europe at the moment. As I designed them I tried nose and mouths in all shapes and sizes but it didn't work, it took away their whymsical cuteness. X

I think they are all different enough. I can definitely discern the different art styles behind Max and Milly, Lilly and Milo, Hanglar (and Magnolia), and Anglund! They are all similar yes, but different nonetheless. Different line thicknesses (and variations of line thicknesses), different proportions, different "accents" (dots, swirls, dashes) etc.
Cute drawings CraftyCairn! I bet they'll sell well! Congratulations on being a SpiralWhisper designer!! Welcome to SCS!
No Max & Milly are exclusives, says on there blog!
I think you mean Lily & Milo - by rachelle anne miller
sorry but i just had them side by side and didn't see that they were close...
one has beady eyes, head shapes off, feet wrong...i just don't get it am i missing somthing?

I don't see that they're close either, but mostly because Max looks just like my brother used to look when he (my brother) was young (slightly hunched back, wide, slightly guilty eyes *giggle*, and hair) ! Max and Milly look like serious youngsters thinking thoughts of gravity. Lilly and Milo remind me more of Hello Kitty and they look more whimsical and light-hearted, as if they've no worries.
Apparently, we are being swept up in a huge European-UK trend! LOL Because it's just not expensive enough to buy stamps in our own countries. :-)
LOL
Uh, yeah. I keep stalking a French stamp store, but their shipping to here is 22 EUROS.
But at least that one does actually ship to the States. Another one, the owner emailed me back, apologized profusely and said that to ship here would be upwards of $250!!! (so it was not an option for them) (that one wasn't in France; forgot which country it was in)

Oh, thank you!! I couldn't remember her name the other day!! I have a book from when I was a kid that has her pics and little poems or something... I love her pics (Of course, the book is in storage... so I couldn't find it!).
