From Swanzey/Keene NH? I need your HELP!!

I am looking to purchase a home in the outskirts of Keene NH. We are looking on the internet from afar and have not been able to get many details out of the local realtors. I am trying to find out specifically about Swanzey--I have found a house there that I am pretty sure is the "one", but I need a little more info about the town and the surroundings of the house first. I thought I saw that one or two of you ladies are from the area and I am hoping that you might know the property or the area and be able to tell us what is on the street/streets nearby etc. Even if all you can do is tell me about the schools and the feel of the town, I would greatly appreciate it. We are also looking at Fitzwilliam, Troy, Winchester, and other nearby towns, so any tidbits that you can offer me would be soooo helpful :-) If you send me your address, I'll also repay your kindness with some handstamped thank you goodies ;)

I just happened on your post and don't know if you still need help. I live about and hour from the Keene area. I've had friends who've lived there and actually worked in the school system and I know they have a decent reputation. Did you know they filmed Jumanji there? (just a little factoid!). Swanzey is a little more country and less developed, Keene would be the "big town" for you there. Fitzwilliam is lovely, it's a real "classic" New England town complete with town green, church, a lovely inn/restaurant. A good friend of mine just sold her house there. I'm fairly sure the schools there are probably regionalized since it's not very big. Have you tried googling the town names to get stats on them about the schools, town size, etc? There are usually links to realtors on those sites as well. If you'd like I can get some additional names for you. Unless of course you've already purchased your property and in that case best of luck!;)
