Hi, everyone. I found something in WalMart called Adhesive Tech. It works the same as Tombo monoadhesive and the refill cassettes sell two in a package for $2.37. The original cartridge runs about the same as a refill for the MonoAdhesive. At first I was buying the originals thinking they were throw-away and were no more than the refills for the Mono. Then I found the refill packages. I gave my daughter one of my original cartridge. You can run into a WalMart almost anywhere while you're traveling; and, if you're doing your scrapbooking or cardmaking, it's great!
Great minds think alike. I have written this code down numerous times but didn't need any mono each time I did. I was just getting ready to start looking for the promo code and here you did everything for me. You're a god-send. Thanks much, just order 18, should last a couple of days!!
MARY ANN, be careful of those. I bought them too and they kept breaking, and I had no clue how to get them back together. I finally returned 1 full pack and one that was broken. I won't buy them again!!!
Janine- They are the exact same thing, Tombow is the distributor for the Mono. When Viking has a sale, stock up if you can! If you order $25 or more, there's free next day shipping and they also have a guarantee for one year from ALL defects. I got two new containers and 11 refills for $26 and it arrived the next morning.
Traci- The sale may be over, or the price may have changed. I used QP5-62201 and QP5-62202 but when I put those numbers in now, I get the same price you are seeing.
I ran into this last night when I placed my order and finally re-read this post:
"Soooooooo sorry all.. need to put QL6-62202 for the $1.98 refills and QL6-62201 for the $2.98 dispensers... knew forgot something.. Think these were in a sale catalog that is why need the first 3 digits."
Adding the "L" to the numbers made the difference. I now have 6 dispensers (backordered) and 15 refills on the way!
Well if you live outside the continental US, they won't ship or bill outside. I live in Hawaii and I wish I could have gotten an order in with Viking.
I was thinking, maybe someone could order it and send my order to me..... I could pay Paypal.

Hi, I just went on Viking and I put the product code number in the search box and the $1.88 sale price came up. I already ordered 14 and I am tempted to order more. I used to get them at Office Depot for $2.69 and I thought I was getting a deal! Yikes!!

Samantha I did the same thing, around here the cheapest you can get them for is $3.79!! I did order 14 of the refills and have 2 dispensers. If I was a demonstrator I would probably order more, but since I am not my DH said that I didn't need anymore right now. I will be using lots though when my 4-H kids come over to stamp their stamping projects for the fair though. Last night they were still at that cheap price so buy buy buy if you must! :lol:
I have gotten the adhesive from Walmart but found that it took twice as much tape than mono adhesive and my cards were falling apart in the mail :shock: I too will not buy them again. Athough a friend of mine buys it and has no problem..... I will stick to the momo adhesive and with the price from Viking- how can you go wrong! My order came next day. I even got vanilla invitation envelopes on my last order because there figured to be .07 each(100 for 6.99+tax and free shipping) In the catalog they are .17 a piece.(including s/h and tax) Ya they are not SU but I would rather help my customers save money on the little things and make it easier to buy more sets, inks and c.s
I love Viking. I always get my package the next day and don't pay overnight shipping. I was concerned about the purple mono, but ordered it anyway. It's not purple--or at least hasn't been. I don't know why they say that. Anyway, it's a great price if you need to buy it in bulk. A few of us go in together and order cases so we can get the free shipping.
Calling the mono "purple" just means it's the permanent kind, Christyann. The label has a bar of color across the top. Purple means permanent, and the temporary has a different color band. The adhesive is still clear
Actually, my SIL ordered some from Viking a couple of weeks ago and the with the new style, the dispenser is purple. Its just how it looks in the picture. I'm not sure if they send the old style if you put that special code or if are just sending the new style now. Even the refills are different!
I also ordered last week and bought enough to get free shipping - can't beat the price anywhere even with a 50% off coupon. Their service was super fast and they also sent a large catalog with many other items we like to use w/ stamping. I am very impressed w/ their customer service.
I live in Alaska so I was bummed to see they only ship to the "lower 48". I have a friend (and my upline) in Oregon (no sales tax either!) who is gonna ship it to me whenever I need some. I ordered about $20 worth this time but even with paying shipping it is cheaper than up here. I would have to pay almost $9 for the dispenser and over 6 for the refill. No way Jose! I just ordered it thru SU! but this saves me money so I can buy more stamps and paper! I have heard that you can usually continue to use the promo code even after it has "expired" . Haven't tried this yet but I have heard others say they have been able to.

I realize it's been awhile since the origianl email was posted. I did click on the link, but the price is $2.77, down to $2.29 if you get 12 or more, still not a bad price.
I ordered mine on 6/6, but somehow I couldn't get the sale prices even using the Q06-62202 & Q06-62201. I ended up paying regular prices for mine. Oh well you win some you lose some. I love the tape this is the first time I have tried Mono. I would love to order a whole bunch more of it if I could get the sale prices to come through.
Yipee!!! I placed an order on Thursday and received it on Friday. I got the $1.88 price for the refill. I thought I would order an extra dispenser (just in case). It is on backorder. Thanks again for posting this information. I still don't understand though - if the refills are available for the $1.88 why you need the code. Shouldn't it just be one price no matter what. Oh well, I'm not complaining --- just my curious nature.
If you don't have the above link then when you go to viking.com it will bring it up on the search at the higher price! It is a promo code that must be built in to the link!
I was curious to those that have recently ordered. Have you gotten the new style of mono or have you been getting the old style? When I last ordered, I got the old style, but my SIL ordered and got the new kind. Just curious to see what you all have been getting!

I went to Joanne's online and entered in JUST 48 mono refills. The total with shipping came to 197.00. I cannot believe this deal!!!
