NoGrinchHere!!! Haven't kept up with this thread--just got home from all our traveling and hurt my back, so haven't even put AWAY last year's Christmas card paper, embellishments and stamps (maybe a good thing)...but THANKS SO MUCH about the info you gave me on the photo editor Irfanview. I will try it as soon as I can. Don't know if it will work, because I'm scanning the cards, and Lexmark printers bring up a menu showing you the size, allowing you to crop, etc. But after I scan it and have a picture file, even if large, I'll go to that web site and see if it allows me to resize down so that I can upload it to SCS. The OLD Lexmark three-in-one printers that weren't Vista compatible, they ALLOWED you to type in whatever size on top you wanted, and it automatically sized the number underneath. I really appreciate you posting that and sorry I didn't see it sooner! Thanks again.

Hi Alliesmem,
Just wondering how to sign up for this challenge. I see you're already posting for March. Can I begin by uploading 10 cards by the end of January and then continue each month? Sorry if this is a silly question.

You can upload for January if you have some ready. Post in the months that have been set up already, It makes it a bit easier for me to keep track of everyone.
As unsavvy as I am I know how to get the link in these posts but I have no clue how to put it in the gallery. Can you tell me how to do that.
First thing you need to do is to take a picture or scan it so it is in a file on your computer. Remeber where you put it.
then there is a place on the home page of SCS for you to upload. It is on the left hand side. Click on Upload card here. That will bring you to the place where you upload. Choose a gallery to put it in, usually you put it in the gallery for the stamp set. If you can't figure out where to put it you can always just put it in your own gallery. Then go to where it says browse, click on that and find the picture on your computer, click on it. this will connect your picture to SCS. You can fill in some of the other fields if you want to with the title of your picture and a brief description. When you are done, you click on the upload/submit button. This will upload your picture. In the next screen you can add more detail like what stamps and ink, etc. that you used. Again click on the button at the bottom of the screen and your picture will be uploaded. It may not show up right away, but it will eventually.
Wow! A March thread? You guys are HOT!
I did half my cards <for Jan> last Saturday. I did 5 Valentines for a swap. I'm going to do the Christmas cards today. Technically, I only have to do 6-7 Christmas cards a month to have them all done by Nov. 15th.
So looking forward to playing today and visiting with my SCS buddies

I can't find where I'm supposed to upload my January's Christmas Card.
Simply upload your card in your Member Gallery or into the gallery for the stamp set used (if it's a SU! set).
Now, here is the important part: Be sure to put CCC08 in the Keywords field when uploading. This way, people searching the gallery for challenge cards will be able to easily find it.

Hi Alliesmem,
I'm going to try this again, i sort of flunked out last year!!!!! I did have enough xmas cards made though so I guess that's the important thing! Can't wait to use some of my new xmas stamps!
Ok............I have my January cards ready to upload but I don't know which one of the MANY galleries this is called. I was uploading to my gallery and then linking it over to where it belongs but Shelley told me to link DIRECTLY to the correct gallery. Sounded easy enough. I just can't find one called 2008 Holiday card challenge.
What is this gallery actually called in that long list that comes up ??!! I'm also participating in the daily challenges and have been uploading to my gallery and then linking across. I can't find a gallery where it says the daily challenge either.
Thanks
for any info.

There isn't a gallery for the challenge. Typically you link to the gallery of the stamp set you used or the technique you used. Then you link it to the CCC08-January thread.
This is a great idea for someone like me, who starts her Christmas cards in October (surely that will be early enough, I tell myself every year), only to find myself frantically finishing them up on December 23rd! Let me tell you, there is no joy of the season in me THAT evening! I am definitely in.
I'm new to SCS and have never uploaded anything, so I hope I can figure it out. Off to stamp my first Christmas card of 2008...

One thing to remember is that the site won't let you upload a card until you have several posts, so the best thing is to post some replies on some of these threads so that when you are ready to upload, it will allow you to.
Okay, it isn't the end of January yet so I'm probably not too late to join, right? Last year I never got to my Christmas cards -- friends that I haven't talked to in a few months called up to see if I was okay because they had received cards from me the previous 15+ years (looking at it that way, it was quite nice to connect with people, but how embarassing...). So, this year, I'm signing up for this challenge. I love Christmas and everything about it. I'm signing up for January to November -- so I never get out of the mode. That way I have some extra cards too, if I need over 100. I finished January's cards on Friday night (January 25th!!) Thanks for the incentive! Jeanne
I'm joining again this year. I know I didn't finish(here) last year but what I did get done really helped. Besides that, since I had mybaby on Jan 1, I have the whole year off on mat leave.
Count me in! I was "in" last year but due to some major medical concerns with my DH, I didn't get beyond April or May. Well, we are all "downsized" as the doctor ordered and are loving our condo life. My "crap" room as it is sometimes fondly referred to, is finished and I can't wait to get started again!
Man...I am already behind! Working on Swaps, taking care of the family. and I just make two "bad "cards which totally bummed me out. Was ready to give up stampin. Well, maybe not...Just got bummed with those cards that did not work out. Don't feel good today. I will try to go "design" my Jan cards and see if I can get them done. Hubby is out of town of the next week.
Got a cute The Angel Company Snowman set that is calling to me. I will give it a whirl!:p
Here is to getting my cards posted before the 1st!!

Don't give up over a few "bad" cards! They were probably better than you think! We all tend to be a bit critical of our own work.
OH, save those 'Bad' cards! You might need one to send a relative that you're not to fond of ~ but have to send something to anyway. Or a rude 'friend' who doesn't support you stamping habit... Just saying! I can never make the same card ~ swaps just about kill me ~ so when it comes to sending out my Christmas cards, I have to sit & pick & choose who gets what ~ ;) not that any of my cards are ever bad...lol... Daughters school chum got a smudged card for her B-day just last week ~ but I doubt the 7 year old even noticed the bit of Stickle that was not quite right ~ but I still don't make bad cards...

Okay, I'm in! I have to admit that most of my cards this year will be using premade card fronts but it's still a great challenge to actually DO ten cards per month! Thanks for the challenge!
Caroline,
No - it isn't a swap. The challenge here is to make holiday cards - particularly Christmas ones, so that when that time comes around, we have one less thing to do on our never ending list of Christmas to-do's. The idea is to make 10 cards each month - or how many ever you need for your Christmas card list. HTH

I saw this challenge last year, but never made a commitment. This would be a great year to start, as I'm probably being induced next week with our first baby. We're having a girl, Hailey Jordyn, and I will need to get organized! Count me in starting in February
Congratulations Keely on your first little one. You will have lots of joy. Take time for yourself once little Hailey is born - but nap when she naps so you aren't too tired out.

I completed my January cards - now I'm hoping to get my February ones done at the beginning of the month! This is such a great challenge - thanks for the motivation!
Well I did it! I got my Jan cards done! I am too tired to upload right now. I will do it in the morning. I am just so excited that I did it, I wanted to post it!!
