I'm responding to this thread so I DON'T LOSE IT! I have already started for January and I'm excited. There are some great cards out there already for January and I hope no one minds if I case some of these! I'm making 25 each month, 15 for us and 10 for the military so that when the time comes there will be lots to send to our heros.
Are you writing notes in them each month. My husband is over there for the 4th time and what most of the men and women look for and hope for are cards and notes written to them. There are a lot of lonely people deployed overseas that do not have family members sending cards, or letters. A lot of people say oh I write an email once in a while, but there is nothing like having that letter in their hand! It really means so very much to them. especially if they get them through out the year. There is an increase durig the holidays, but then a lot of people feel forgotten during the rest of the year.
Right now on Any Soldier http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/ there are 3,192 Army, 490 Marine, 185 Air Force, 206 Navy and 2 Coast Guard contacts. For each contact there are people serving with that one contact person. They make sure the letters and packages are distributed to everyone from Michelle M. Prychodzko who is serving with two other females to CSM Randall T. Sumner who is the contact for 750 men and 7 women.
Remember the most requested item by these men and women serving overseas is a letter.
Best to you and so proud to be with such caring people as I have found here on SCS

I'm subscribing this thread, and now I need to go get started on my cards!
Great job to everyone on getting done already, they all look great!!

I aksed this question on another forum, but thought I would ask here as well - when I look at cards that have been uploaded, they have additional information included - Keyword, stamps, paper, ink, accesories - how can I include that bit of information with my cards? I don't see those categories listed on the upload page.

Thanks to Roxie, I have reloaded my cards into the member gallery so that I could add additional details for my cards. I deleted my albums as well - so I am starting fresh for the new year. I hope to add many more cards to my gallery this year.

I have completed my 4th card for this years challenge. you can find it here: CCC08Jan ~Poinsettia Christmas~ by pcm2004 at Splitcoaststampers
I cased another card that I had in 'my favorites', and am pleased with the changes that I made and the way it turned out.
I am hoping I get some time to play tomorrow. May have to do more casing though!!

The best thing about SCS is that there are so many things to look at and so many great ideas, that at first you may start off case-ing but next thing you know creativity is just running wild. I love all the ideas that I have gotten here from you very talented ladies, thank you for sharing with me.

I am so excited... I am ahead of schedule on my Christmas cards. Here is one of my 12 completed for the month of Jan. These 12 cards are made from a digital print of one of my favorite Thomas Kinkade paintings.
Okay after i signed up for this Challenge i pulled out alot of my Christmas Images and started stamping them. I also started coloring them. so a few of these cards were done between Christmas and New Years ( i was home recovering from a surgery in that time frame )
I now have 10 of them finished enough to photograph and upload so here they are:

Not a silly question! Stickles is glitter glue that comes in a small bottle with a needle-like (oy I'm having a senior moment) applicator (whew). I've purchased all of mine through a company called Wilde-Ideas. I've not actually seen them in JoAnn's or Michael's.....but then I've not looked. They are really neat to add glitter accents. It comes in a gazillion colors. I love it. Hope this helps.

I just saw your question about stickles. I love , love , love using stickles. They are less messy then glue and glitter and you can do a fine line like I did on my ornaments. They come in quite a few colors and many different grades of fineness for the clear ones. My favorite is diamond dust.I have them on my website in several colors I also have more if you are looking for a certain one.I have a gallery with 100's of ideas and I use them a bunch in there. Check it out at www.ka-diecuts.com for lots of ideas! I have a new blog diecutlady.typepad.com I might just do a entry about using stickles I think that would be a fun post.
Have a great day and now I will think about how to use stickles all day!

This card was made using scraps from the Heidi Grace Snowflake Print Paper. It is a shame that the glitter on the paper doesn't show. It is such beautiful paper.

This is a cute card! I love that paper, I have it too, so much nicer in real life.

Finally got my 5 January cards done. Borrowed my mom's A Beautiful Season. I really liked that set- till I used it. I think it's a hard set to work with.
Here are my Valentine cards for January. I did 3 of each design except for the last one - I'll make the other two shortly but I wanted to get as many of the VSN challenges done as I could, so these had to wait. I do 3 of each because I'm going to take some into work to sell, I supply handmade cards to a local corner shop and I'm going to try and get a local florist to stock them as well, so needed some samples.
My first 5 of 10 cards done for January. Very simple cards using only rubons for the very first time! LOVE the Basic Grey rubon tool with the roller tip; made for a very smooth image transfer.
I FINALLY figured out how to upload cards today !! I'm in heaven. I did a FS challenge today and 6 of the VSN challenge cards. This was after setting at my machine for hours reading all the threads. The upload is actually a piece of cake....now that I know what to do. I will be posting my January cards in a few days. I'm already working on February's cards. I'm in the VFW Women's auxilliary and we support our local nursing home and make cards for all the residents several times a year. Wednesday is a marathon stamping party here at my house to get the Valentine's ready for their party. Maybe I'll remember to take a couple of pictures and upload them. Hoping you all have a great week. Pray for Peace !
