I don't think I will get to do VSD as I have to work and then race home to hostess VSN! But I thought I would get a comment in right now, so the link in my signature is right close!
I wish I was... the 25th is my volunteer day, and the 26th is Saturday, so not likely I can play with the family around. Ain't it great to be indispensable!
I won't be able to participate either, as I am working the night shift next weekend and have a charity breakfast on Saturday after I get off work, so I will be sleeping as long as I can, in order to go back to work for a 12 hour shift! I'm not indispensible, but the last time I was sick, they booked three people to cover for my absence....does that tell you something?

I'm sorry you guys can't join me for VSD. If you've not done your Feb. Cards, pick a day on your calendar that will work and schedule it to get them done. Remember, this is a short month. Who knew losing 2-3 days off a month could make such a difference! LOL
I know that doesn't apply to anyone on this particular thread so I'll be posting it on the Main thread too.

I have been working on my March cards already, but I'll have to find time to finish them off soon, as there is a gathering coming up that I will need to make at least 30 card fronts for.

Sure Pam, just tell your boss that I said you should have a raise!
OK - I will! He likes jokes! Seriously, I have a job I really like and the pay is good. The hours aren't the greatest but I have figured out ways to adjust.
Kelly, I fly back on Tuesday, won't actually get to my house until around 2 a.m. on Wed and go back to work that night at 11:30 p.m.
Pamela, my hours aren't the greatest either, when it comes to maintaining good health. I work permanent night shift.....every other week. I work 3 eight hour night shifts starting Wednesdays, and then on Saturday and Sunday nights, I work 12 hour shifts, from 7:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. My biggest issue is with getting enough sleep. It gets worse and worse as I age. But I am looking at retiring within the next two years, so I'll hang tough and stick it out until then.

Thanks ladies for your kind words. However, at one time they were talking about eliminating the shift supervisory position at our hospital, so I'm not going to push my luck!

So right about the docs supporting us! For those of you who don't know, Melissa is one of the awesome emergency nurses who works the night shift and sometimes we even have time to do a bit of crafting in the wee hours.....usually, it's Melissa teaching me a new technique or fold!

Good thing your doctors aren't afraid to open their mouths and speak up! It seems like everyone is trying to do more with less lately, and lots of things are suffering.
That said, I have had some of the best customer service I have ever seen in the last few months... I don't know if it is because all the crabby people got fired, or everyone is working hard to keep their jobs, but I have actually been getting helpful, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly people on the phone and in stores. It is such a relief, and takes away so much stress when you have a problem to solve!!!!
That's always good news to hear, Jane. I know it used to be *you* as in a person in general - were afraid to voice an issue because the person who was SUPPOSED to help, wasn't interested in doing their job. I've found it getting better, too.

Reason: clarification
I'm done! I had a terrible time finishing these up today. I used craft ink on the purple tree and it would not dry. It's raining here today; I guess that's why it was such a problem. Here are my February cards:

Just reading through the forum and seeing the hours you work and so i dont know you and will probably never meet you but i do want to thankyou for looking after your fellow man and woman and children. Your job is so hard and the hours you work would stop most people in their tracks and yet you still find time to create...so hats off to you and again thanks. Abby

Liked the idea of the quilted cards, so tried a couple. Still have one to go for this month, not sure if i will do another quilt or play with something else.
Thanks Abby! Sometimes our job is difficult and sometimes heartbreaking, but we do have our moments of fun and hilarity too! Like for example (and I won't get too explicit) but we've seen tattoos in places you wouldn't imagine!

I have a customer that always tells my boss to give me a raise.. Dick says, okay I'll get her a thicker phone book
Here's my list for February and since I had many of them done before the first of the year now I really have to get to work for the remaining months. I am glad I didn't stop in November, it's like I got to skate through for two months!

LOL Oh I can imagine!!! I went in for a touch up and I saw a girl getting a tat of a HUGE Butterfly on her....
The pics of it all done are on the wall to show off her work. She just did a new one on Clint's chest.
Vikki, loved the comment on my penguins card, tell Clint I was wondering why that little guy didn't have ear muffs too. I think with all the fancy footwork he was doing they just fell off!
WOW! Can you believe the month is half gone, and Christmas is just 10 months and 5 days away!
LOL Sorry, I had to point that out!
This week I'd like to challenge you to think about all of your toys in your craft stash, which one has the most dust on it? Use it! make your next set of cards using that tool.
Whether it's a punch, a other gadget, I bet if you go to the gallery and search for it you can find many cards of inspiration!
This challenge is completely OPTIONAL, just an idea for you
Mine would have to be a Ribbon Tag Curling thingy...
