Hello everyone! Please do not let the name of these colors scare you! I am trying to use the retiring colors. Although, I may move to some in colors next week just to give us a bit of a break (did I say that, really? lol!). First of all, I am not a purple person. I know I have said this before. Just making sure you know so when I bring out the purple you have to know it is somewhat challenging for me, too. These colors came about because I wanted to use one of the purples retiring. I, then, wanted to combine it with a green. Did you know that gable green has only been featured in 7 SCS Color Combo Challenges? So sad, huh? Well, I figured that was the green. Then, I had to throw a pop of a pink or something in the mix. I was not in the mood for pixie or passion...so coral seemed like a good choice. NOW, the biggie here is I did not realize how much I would LOVE this combo until my card was complete. I actually said out loud in my craftroom....AMAZING! I flatter myself! I really hope you do not get nauseated at the title and run for the pepto. Give these colors a chance! In combo they really are quite impressive!
CC269: Lovely Gable Cameos!
Lovely Lilac
Gable Green
Cameo Coral
Neutrals of choice
This week's dessert option is:Clear cardstock. Use clear cardstock as either the base, focal element, or accent on you card/projects! Let us know 'cause we may not see it right away since it is clear!
I asked Heather and Traci to sample with me this week! Thanks so much!
Please keep in mind, too, that while we list SU colors for the challenges these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to be able to play!!!
Please put CC269 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card! If you need help uploading click here!
I will be hosting the color challenges for the next few weeks. If there is a color combo you want to see using any of the new in colors, please pm me with the link to the card. Try to stay within three color choices. Thanks so much!
I did try to put it in with acetate cards or something! They are working on the system and it seems my card was only visible to me. LOL! I deleted it and will try to post it again later!
It's been a wacky gallery to view lately, but the thumbnail for MY CARD is actually showing up for a change. Great colors, Betty, and thanks for the push to use some clear CS...a first for me!

Awesome combo! I have been in a coral mood lately so this was perfect. Purples are hard for me, too.
Waiting to upload until gallery is un-wonkied.

You're right, Betty.....these colors grew on me as I planned what to do with them. In fact, I ended up REALLY liking them! Thanks for an interesting and challenging challenge!

Yeah, Gallery's back up! You would think that with the length of time we had to work on this, I could have created something so much better!! Well, here's my card:
another great color challenge betty-you were right you have to put them together to see the combo in action. I finihsed it early in the day but just found out it was ok to upload. here is my card
Too funny, before I knew what colors were retiring, I ordered two packs of cardstock of these three colors, only having scraps left from my color family multi-packs. The Cameo Coral goes really well with one of my Copic markers, and the Gable Green, well, that has me scratching my head. The only other Bold Brights I ever purchased were the Orchid Opulance ink, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red cardstock. I hope I can play this week!
