Ok, I did it - it was a four minute page, I feel a little like it's not a 'real' page though. It's analagous to just cropping the photo, gluing it to the page and slapping a sticker on it... but done is done, and I love this photo so I wanted it to be as MUCH of the page as possible anyway!
Thanks for the challenge, I look forward to more - I really need to stretch my digital boundaries!!!

I realized when I did the last one I regretted not putting a burnt edge or border around it, so I wanted to be sure to try that to see if I liked the effect a little better.
I also didn't have any wine related word art, so I set out to make my own. So this layout took a little longer than the last one did, but it still was pretty fast.
This is so cool that you're now starting some digi challenges. I started paper scrapping about 5 years ago and always edited my pics in Photoshop but have slowly progressed to the point of doing about 80% of my scrapbooking in digi these days. I just love the endless amount of creativity it offers as you can change up your papers, photos and elements over and over. I'm also a SU demo, so I never get bored with all the avenues of scrapping I've got!
My first attempt at any type of digi scrapping was to do this process and I loved the results (it was a hybrid page though). I've been wanting to do this again so I accept this challenge ;-) Here is the page I did for my mom's album for Mother's Day 2007:
This is gonna be a great way for me to work on my digi-scrapping skills. There is so much to learn, which I think I can accomplish by doing a challenge a week. I have one done, but can't upload until tomorrow morning.
A few others did this technique and then a few have asked how to do it. This is pretty simple:
Put a picture over a background colour or patterned paper. Use the opacity to soften your picture and the background will show through. If you want the picture to be smaller than the full page, and don't want to see the edges of the photo, do this: use the rectangular marquee, change the feathering to a large number (I use the max in PSE - 250), then create a rectangle around the edge of the photo. When you let go of the button on your mouse, the rectangle will change to an oblong shape, then hit delete on your keyboard. It should delete the edges. If it doesn't work perfectly, play around with it. You can lighten the picture further, try drawing a larger rectangle, etc. Play with it and try a new technique!
Here's mine. I can't believe Kirsten did hers in 4 minutes!
I started mine the other day and had to save my work after an hour and only just got back to it and finished the page. I guess I'm a slow scrapper regardless of how I do a page! hehehehe

I love all the pages! Everyone has done such a great job and I am just brimming with new ideas and I need more pictures to scrap!
For those of you who are new to digi scrapping, I wanted to make sure you knew that there is a digi scrapping gallery. When you upload, you can choose which gallery you want your upload to go to. For example, you can pick a stamp set, 3D objects, etc. There is a place near the bottom of the list for scrapbooking, and there is a sub-heading under scrapbooking for digital scrapbooking. I've noticed that quite a few of the people who have done the challenge, have not put their page in the digital gallery, so I wanted to make sure people knew it was there. I know that it was a while before I knew it was there and surely I'm not the only one. Please, don't let me be the only one:rolleyes:
I'm pretty new to the digi challenges Wendy suggested I post this page here, Thanks Wendy. I took this pic of some flowers in my garden and and without knowing it I caught a bee in flight I used that pic for my BG.
