Are we allowed to use punches? I see in the Gallery that some used punches. I used a punch to make fake buttons. I hope that was ok.

I used Wet Paper Watercoloring. Thanks for a fun challenge. I wish I had added an embelly. Guess I can come back and add later. Mine looks kind of boring.

I decided to do a shadow box card - no frills. It's for my DH. I guess I'll have to stamp the sentiment on the back.
DH Birthday
Thanks for stepping up and giving us a challenge Dawn!!

What's that you say, "a little too lazy to try those techniques?" Yep. That's me! LOL Love this challenge. Sadly, I don't think I have anything I can offer! But I'll think about it. ;)
Thanks for a real challenge! :p

Ageless Adornment
Great challenge. I almost forgot how to create a card without embellishments. I chose Ageless Adornment which I have not used in a very long time. I sponged White Craft ink and Chocolate Chip ink on Creamy Caramel card stock to give a wood look. The velvet strips are from an old scrap of velvet card stock I had in an envelope gathering dust. Here's
Velvet Holly

Here's my card for today. After I created the background batik piece in pinks and saffron, my daughter told me that the colors of the blow driers in the salon were red, so I used Rose red and tried to make it work!

Back to basics it is -- here's my simple card. No ribbon, no brads, no bling! Although I didn't really use a technique - just paper, stamp and ink.
Happy Birthday

OOOPS!! I cheated and I didn't even mean to! I read the post, then ran around doing errands all day before I stamped, and must have let the old ADD kick in, so I added ribbon!
I'm SO sorry, I guess I can drag out stamping techniques but I am not capable of a card without some sort of embellishment.
Okay, try to picture this card with just a narrow strip of yellow PAPER intsead of that silly ribbon, please??
Spotlight on a Serene Butterfly by squirlsnest at Splitcoaststampers
(and maybe picture the last one without the big knot of ribbon, too? pretty please?)
