This was a fun challenge. I didn't have a problem at all using only the one stamp, although I admit that when I was looking through my stamp sets to pick one, I kept thinking, oh if I could just use this with it, or this with it.
OK---turns out I can't hardly do a card without BGs!!! I like texture and depth, so I did the next best thing----I used flocked patterned paper. It felt so like cheating that I must have checked the challenge guidelines 50 times! LOL!
I haven't had much time to stamp lately (birth of 2nd child!) but I needed a birthday card and this was a nice easy challenge to get me back in the groove. Thanks Jen!

I had a heck of a time with this one...I literally spent all day on it and I still am not thrilled with it.
here it is and thanks for looking! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
i have to confess that i am sad. i thought mine was great, ok, good. then i scanned it and the ribbon and scallop frame are similar in color and they look totally different. then the kitty looks horrid(actually he's not too bad) and the sparkles on the flowers don't even show. so here i thought i was doing great and voila- not even really worthy of posting, but i had already uploaded, so i apologize, here's mine. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ( i think i'll take a LONG break from participating. sorry if this messes up the challenge. thanks for listening, jan

Here is one I made last year before I had any background stamps. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers I really hope I will have some time to make a new one tomorrow.
Here's mine! Great challenge for me Jen. I am a background stamp nut. I knew I would have to use designer paper for a background which pushes me for last weekends challenge, too. My closest girlfriend's 36 year old daughter is having her first baby. It's a girl and they are going to name her Maya. I wanted to make a really sweet baby card that was not typical run of the mill. I love how this turned out.

Your card is cute! Please keep participating. If you're not happy with your cards right now, you will improve if you work at it. And the challenges are a great place to get practice! That said, I think your card is cute! Much better than my first attempts at uploading and doing challenge cards.
It feels so good to be able to participate in the challenges again. I did mess up and used more than 1 stamp, but it was on the tag I had already attached and I couldn't pull it apart. So I apologize but the tag stays.
Thanks for a fun challenge.

Man - I sure wish I could play stamping during the day........instead I get to look at everybody else's challenges and try planning in my head for later in the evening.
So here is my "plan" for the day. I have a friend at work who is expecting anyday - she doesn't know the sex of the baby but I've guessed boy. So in anticipation of this, I did this card:
This was a tough one for me--I just wanted to add some more bg to it. It needs some more pattern behind that image, but none of my pattern papers did anything to it. Could be cause I'm tired, but am not totally satisfied with this one. Will add sentiment with my snap stamps when I need a guy card. Twisted Turtle
