Thank you, thank you, thank you! To all of you who posted discount codes and the rebate!! For those of you who tried to order, and found out that it is out of stock, I had the same experience. I finally checked all zip codes of my friends and family, and a couple of days ago I ordered a set to be delivered to a friend in Hawaii! Don't know when I'll get them, but I will be saving a bundle thanks to all of you on SCS!! Thanks again!
OK. So I missed the deal. I can get them locally for $57 (that's including the Prisma rebate). Do you think that's still a good deal considering I can't get in on the Viking deal?
I think it works out cheaper to get them from Viking with the $20 off and just forego the rebate if they don't come in time. They are on backorder, but will be available, right? Some are saying 7-10 days, some are saying Feb 7th I think.
does anyone know how to use the 20 off code on THIS purchase and not my NEXT purchase, what viking said i had to do when i inquired about putting an order in this morning?

Suzanne - I just tried using the $20 promo code on the backorder and tells me that the discount exceeds the total purchase amount and I should add more to my cart. What should I do?
I HAVE A RELATIVE WHOSE ZIPCODE SHOWS THEM STILL IN STOCK..
SO IF SHE ORDERS THEM FOR ME, WILL SHE HAVE TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT ONLINE FIRST? BEFORE SHE CALLS IN THE ORDER? AND WILL SHE GET TO USE THE 20 OFF PROMO FOR HER VERY FIRST ORDER?

I'm not certain, but I think you can just order them on your account and put her as the "ship to" address? I think that will work as long as your billing address matches the address on the credit card you are using.

I just placed an order for the Prismacolor pencils in GA, ship date is tomorrow. So guess my distribution center still has them, so if you know anyone in this part of the country, try their zip code. HTH
I just placed an order and it wouldn't let me use the $20 off coupon for a backordered item either. I called customer service and was told to call back when the item arrived (I had to delete it from my cart) and explain what happened. The agent said they would credit the $20 to my card.
I wrote her name down and what she said just to be safe. She also said it should get here around January 28th - I guess it depends on the zip code. I'm crossing my fingers.
Just placed order with Viking--backordered here in OH, but having them shipped to my SIL in Denver...Got them for the 56, plus 20 off, plus 25 rebate! Doing the happy dance
colorado still has them in stock--according to viking, they will arrive at her house (in Castle Rock) on Tuesday!
how did you get the $20 off to work on this order and not a future order. i have it in my cart, but it still won't go and the pencils are not backordered her??? any help out there?

After reading all these posts, I ordered the 150 Prismacolor pencils to replace my old set of 24. I really NEEDED these!! They arrived today...and what fun to have all those colors! And now I find there is a rebate as well--woo hoo!! You guys are great! Thanks a big bunch!! I feel almost like I am being paid to use these.
I got mine today too My hubby had opened them and asked why I needed a $60.00 box of colored pencils. I was quick to point out the $20.00 coupon AND the $25.00 rebate. My hubby then asked why I didn't buy more!!
Wow!! I just got my pencils today (Tues 1/25)---they are in a HUGE box! Now I just have to go get the good pencil sharpener......and try to get my $20 off coupon that I used. I just called Viking and they added the $20 off---it was there when I placed the order (on the confirmation) but not on the packing slip. Viking rocks!
There's hope yet for those who haven't gotten theirs.....
Question... if Viking and Office Depot are one and the same, owned by the same company, wouldn't you think Office Depot might have them for the same price or at least price match??? Just thinking here...
