But now I have a question regarding the wording of "least popular". This is a bit negative in my mind. I have never submitted a card to the gallery and probably won't because sometimes it seems to be more of a popularity contest if you know the person who submitted it.
How about coming up with a better phrase or doing away with the comments. I love looking at the cards and admit I am guilty of not leaving comments. I just forget. I love the work and talent that goes into making them. But I don't want to end up on the "least poplular" list.

I believe that sorting option is just part of the software. The only reason we ever click on it is to get to great cards we may have missed. I usually sort by "latest". We used to have comments PLUS a 1-10 rating system. The rating system was done away with. I personally love the comment system and hope it stays.
I hope you will try uploading to the gallery. And when you do please post a forum message that you've done your first uploads. I absolutley love to see first uploads! In the meantime just try making 5 comments a day. It becomes a really fun habit!
Man! You guys really step up to the plate! I just posted and there were'nt any cards that had "0" comments. It was even difficult to find cards with only 1 comment! Great job everyone and thanks for the reminder Jami!

DONE! There are some really BEAUTIFUL cards today! (and everyday)
Just a note.....I had a "DUH" moment this past month. While looking at the cards in the galley I noticed that you can change the amount of cards that you see at one time. There are usually 12 cards per page and you can change that number to 24 cards per page! That is like looking at two pages of cards at a time!
I'm sure that everyone else knew this and I am once again the last to figure it out. GEESH!
I made a personal challenge with myself to leave at least 5 comments every time I go to the gallery. I then challenged myself to look harder at great cards with no comments and make someones day. There are some days I am so tired by the time I get on the puter, so if I don't meet my challenge then I double up the next time I am viewing. There are some gorgeous cards by people not as well known on the site and I am glad I have taken the time to look, comment and don't tell but " case" them also!!
The gallery is sooo slow tonight, which probably accounts for so few comments. One thing I do to get through the cards a bit quicker is to change the viewing option to 24 per page rather than 12. That cuts the number of pages in half and really doesn't take any longer (most days!) to load each page. You'll find this option in the upper left hand corner of the gallery pages.

I find the fastest time in general in the gallery is after 10pm Pacific Time. I know this doesn't help the Easter Coasters (maybe early morning for you is fast?), but it is a great time for the West Coasters to peruse the gallery.
DUH! Two windows of SCS. I've just gone through the whole lot, left a few comments, managed to be first on a few, too, as I've been at this for a while with a break for dinner. It has been brutal slow and I have a fast connection. I've been playing solitaire on another window waiting for comments to post or new favorites to load. I will try to post at least one comment a day on a commentless card. I do try to look at the new ones every day, but don't always leave comments unless it's something I've added to favorites. Now I know four new things: have two SCS windows open, look at 24 cards to a page, look back at previous days and . . . I forget, but it'll come back to me. Oh, something other than hitting the back button to press on. Only problem about commentless cards, sometimes it's hard to say something nice, so, like Thumper's Mom, I don't say anything. But that's rare! Kathy

yup-early in the morning is usually pretty speedy!

Ok - I've been meaning to do this all day, but I had a crop and then the children were extra needy. But I did it. I commented on 3 cards. And I'll keep going for a little while. It's nice when people comment on what you do

Samantha,
"Least Popular" means that not many people have clicked on that card yet. Newly posted cards end up in the least popular category until they are "discovered".
I don't "know" any of the people who regularly comment on my work, or those whose work I leave comments on, so I would say it's definitely not a popularity contest. Some work just appeals to certain people. Who knows why? It's strictly a matter of personal taste. I've posted cards that I just loved, only to have them go unnoticed, and some that I was not crazy about have gotten 30 or 40 or more comments! I've stopped trying to figure it out. :? I just enjoy sharing what I do with others.

.
I didn't mean this to come out as the negative statement as it sounds. I never relized there was a "least popular" drop down name. It just took me by surprise.
I love the gallery and the great work you all do. I am scared to really post a card to the gallery. I will try and remember to leave comments. I am usually many days behind at looking a them.

This was a good challenge Jami and I'll tell you why (my opinion).
Just the other day I was cruising around looking for something in the different galleries and of course I can't remember what it was now because I spend half my time here. Anywho, I saw several I mean several cards, craft projects, etc. that were from as early as this time last year that were fabulous and had no comments. They must have been overlooked somehow or another or SCS was having technical issues. Although, I could see how they could get overlooked there is just so much to see in the gallery. So, I stopped what I was doing and started leaving my 2-cent comments for people.
I just did it on my way out the door. Opened up a few windows and by the time I had my driving directions from Mapquest I was done with 6 comments, and will do more when I get home.
Have a happy day!

Great suggestion. I do need to be better about doing this. See so much great stuff here. I am going to a few galleries for sets I like and doing the same. Some items have been out there for weeks with no comments, and they are great cards.
My demo has started something by introducing us to this site.
Whew! I am getting there! And I'm trying to catch up on comments for all the challenge cards! I figure, if I enter in a challenge, I better post comments on others who have entered! There are some really great cards here today!!! Thanks for the posting reminder, Jami - it's so easy to just close that window when the gallery is swamped
I always think it's to bad that people look at the samples and most do not take the time to post a little encouragement. This was a great idea. I will try to do this more often. THANKS for being thoughtful.
what an excellent and kind idea!!! i made several comments on cards i had previously overlooked - have resolved to do more of this at the end of every day. and i agree with the other comments about discovering a card you really like and then see there are no comments under it - in fact, i just printed out and made one like that yesterday!!! so i was MORE than happy to participate in this litte exercise - thanks so much for instigating it!!

Thanks for the reminder. I am going to make it a daily habit to comment on at least 5 cards. I know how it makes my day when I get comments on my cards.
Done and it was FUN to know I brought some sunshine to my fellow SCS sisters!
