I have just found the tutorial on the tags. I really like the idea of the custom stamp pad. Has anyone used felt like you buy in a fabric store? I don't even know if they would have white, but they should. I don't have any reinkers either, so I would have to spend a lot to create one of these. Oh and I so love those facets. Those are really cool and could be used for any kind of card.
Gosh I'm so impressed with all this, I want to sell everything I have (almost) and just buy TH stuff!!!

Regular felt WILL NOT work. The Cut-n-Dry Felt is covered like on the Ranger Ink pads.
All of your tags look wonderful! I'm very impressed with everyone. I just haven't taken the time to work on them. But I love taking the time to look at yours!! thanks for sharing!!
I can't recommend highly enough that you try the custom stamp pad. A piece of cut 'n dry felt is not too much, and you can make a TON of custom pads. As for the reinkers, I figured I would need them for reinking my pads eventually, so that helped me justify that expense! It's so much fun to stamp a full color image.
I'm following along with Tim's tags and would love to be able to make some of my own, but I've got my mom in town until Thursday and time with her comes first, for sure. But, I was one of the prize winners...does that count!?!?! I got a shipping notification on Saturday, so I'm hoping to see some goodies soon! I can't wait to see what I get to play with!
By the way, I've purchased most of the Tim Holtz products I have from Ellen Hutson, Simon Says Stamp, or Joanns.com. Joanns is usually my last choice, because although they do have great sales (sometimes 50% off), I hate how long it takes to get orders from them.

Congrats on winning! I sure you'll be getting some great stuff. Have fun with your mom. Someone said they don't have time to do the tags right now so they're going to use the techniques to make a tag for each month with seasonal/holiday things on it.
Vic, I left a comment on your tag. I really like the vintage feel of this one. It's very pretty. today's tag is probably my least favorite so far. I just wasn't that impressed with it. Let's see what everyone else has to say about it....

Yay! Winning is so cool. I'm hoping to score some stuff too. You'll have to let us know what you get!
I've just posted my Day 7 tag to my website. I've been playing along with Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas and all tags are posted to my site. You can click below my siggy for the link.
I have checked the tag every day and they are beyond-words-lovely. However, who the heck has that kind of time?!?!?! Even if you adapt the tag to dies and stamps that you already have, the number of steps involved is staggering. Perfect don't come easy, we all know. But really, Tim, give us a break and post your 12 Tags of Christmas in September!

I think it's so great what a great job you all have been doing keeping up. I think the tags just look beautiful!!!
I don't know what it is this year, I just haven't been that inspired yet by any of Tim's tags. I keep waiting to be blown away as I promised myself I could pick one day and buy the supplies to make it but I'm just not feeling it. Some tags from other years are still my favorite. Maybe I'm just being a bah humbug, lol.
I just finished Tag No. 7. My husband and I are leaving on our anniversary trip tomorrow morning, and I haven't even packed. Because I've been working on the stupid tag.
The really sad part is that even though I'm looking forward to celebrating my 25th Wedding Anniversary in romantic bed and breakfasts in Natchez, Mississippi, part of me is bummed because I'm going to be three days behind on my tags!

Cyndi, all of your tags are wonderful! Do you make the tags themselves? Your tags don't look like the manufactured ones with the hole closure on them. I've made a tag, but I had to make the base, as I didn't have the manufactured tags.
i'm personally loving all of the tags (well...there was one that just didn't get me going...but i'm past it now! lol!) and can't wait to see what happens next! of course, i'm a few days behind, so now gotta play catch up!
Tessa....have fun with your new toys!! What fun!! I hope you are feeling better, I've also been sick, head cold..coughing up a lung, you get the general idea....
You can make your own tags cheap & easy with manilla folders. Simply cut a rectangle of the size you want, snip off two corners to resemble a tag, and punch a hole in the center--manilla tags made easy! I'm way late in starting my tags, but I've cleared my week coming up and dedicating it to finishing my tags. Yeah!
The first year he did his tags, I tried to make exact copies. But now, like so many of you, it's more fun to just borrow his ideas and make my own version with similar techniques and my own stash of materials.
