2010 Stamping Trends
What do you feel were/are the trends in the stamping world for 2010.
I keep hearing on the radio these "top 10 of 2010" lists so what's our list?
(and in case I forgot to buy any of them...I have 16 days left, lmbo!)
Some of my thoughts:
- Nesties (bigger than EVER)
- Patterned paper, it seems like companies are releasing new paper every week now! and I have been buying it all up...can't make a card without it.
- Edge Punches or Edge dies
Agree with the Nesties, there are so many now!
Martha Stewart punches made it over here this year
Promarkers, and now the Aquarelle are just emerging
Owls( love 'em,)
Cupcakes( not my thing)lol
text - either text patterned paper or cards that have a large sentiment as the focal image
felt/cork/twine - lots of rich texture
banners
cupcakes
owls
stitching
big bows
a LOT of CAS designs
that's just a few things I've noticed in magazines, anyway!
I saw an increase of digital companies.
Layers, layers layers. Oh my word, some beautiful cards looked like they needed a flat rate box to mail out!
Coloring techniques went to a whole new level this year with all types of medium.
Sewing showed up more (or maybe I noticed them since I got a janome).
LOL, I don't think Nesties will ever go away!!!!! When they first came out, I was able to keep up with them... what was being released, etc. Now, I give up! There are way too many. Same for CB embossing folders.
OH! And one more.....stamping the inside of cards. Not just with a sentiment; but also stamping in corners with elements from the front of the card. Especially if a darker card base was used and a white or vanilla piece was layered inside to write on. I saw more people stamping on those "inserts"...and on envelope flaps.
A big trend I noticed this year...anything related to sewing and needleart. I saw a lot of new stamps from different companies that had this theme. I think it's continuing on into 2011, too!
one trend I've been noticing (and not really a fan of)... a lot more single image + sentiment sets rather than multiple coordinating images + sentiments. It's so hard for me to spend $7-9 on one image!
