3D scrapbookpaper projects to use as seasonal vase fillers?

I have 3 hugs vases that are empty at the moment. I'd like to fill them with something Halloween-y using my HUGE pile of 12X12 Halloween paper. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe tons of wide curled strips, but I don't know if that would be cute or not.

Some paper flowers on stems? Halloween pinwheels on sticks? Little flags?

Or along the lines of when people fill up a vase with Christmas ball ornaments, maybe 3-D stars, cubes or other 3-D shapes piled inside the vase? I'm trying to visualize what would show off the Halloween designs of the paper.

These are just ideas. I'll be interested to see suggestions from people's actual experience. Cool question, thanks for posting!
