OK, so we are finally (almost) settled into our new house and I'm trying to organize my new stamp room *yay* I'm going to be organizing my paper in a filing cabinet, but before I start I have one question for you all:
Should I file the paper according to colour or colour group? I.e. should I file all the earth elements together or should I take Cameo Coral and file it next to Rose Romance, Pink Passion etc.
As always, I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts!
TIA

I like mine by color family. It's a lot easier to tell some of the similar colors apart that way. But that's just my personal preference.
Also, I've found that it's difficult having my paper on its side and the edges sometimes get crumpled. If you have room in your stamping space, I encourage you to explore a storage option in which your paper is stored flat.
I file mine the exact way SU has them listed in the color families and also my ink pads each has a number and I have a chart with sample color and number posted next to my file cabinet and ink pad holder , I did have to reorganize after the color changes . Bonnie
I store mine in hanging file folders by color family, just the way they are listed in the catalog. I like having them hang (rather than flat) and never have had any problems with it. It's easy to find the color I want, and then there's some room for those little scraps I just can't toss!
Currently, I have mine filed according to the rainbow. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Well, guess indigo and violet are lumped together. Neutrals are also separate.

Mine are stored flat, according to family. Each family is separated into actual colors. I have one of those huge paper things that Costco was selling a few years ago. It has 36 compartments. They are meant for offices, like for mailboxes or literature. It holds 8.5x11 and works just dandy. I got mine for free, my daughter works at a dr office and they were getting a bigger one. Check Office Depot or someplace like that, or get someone to build you one.
I like my paper flat so that it doesn't bend, plus I can see it clearly. I use my little label maker to mark the slots for color(s).
