Default ? about spring garden

Just got this today

Here's my question. The one big stamp has the stem on it and also the inside part of the flower right? Wouldn't these be two different colors?

I know I can always color in with markers and then stamp but wouldn't it make more sense to have this stamp as two seperate stamps?

Or am I missing something? Like I don't know what the stamp is supposed to be or what the flowers are supposed to look like - both of which are possible!

Thanks

I don't have the set or my catty in front of me, but if I remember right, the dots are supposed to look like little leaves or growth around the buds/flowers. Or maybe just green centers of the flowers. Darn...I wish I wasn't so lazy and I would get up to get the catty.

Here's a link to an interesting card, it's beautiful! But you can see how the dots are more like leaves...

Jodi, those are all leaves on the big stem. You stamp the vertical row of flowers to fit right inside, thus there are leaves and flowers going all the way up the stem. Try it and it will make sense.

Yep, the long vertical stamp is just the stem with a few leaves. You would stamp that in some type of green and then take the other vertical stamp with round type "flowers". You stamp that in any color you want right over the stamped green stem. Do I make sense?

The image created with the two stamps is supposed to resemble a hollyhock, a beautiful, old-fashioned garden flower that comes in a wide range of colors.
