Hi Robin! Great question - though I don't know the answer, I will follow along to see what the experienced crafters here have to say.
Cheers,
Chrissy

Hello - Can someone tell me if Adirondack dye inks are water reactive?
Can this help you

Hmm...the only place I even see mention of the dye is at Frantic Stamper but they only have 1 refill left with no description.
Where did you see this?
Looked at Ranger's home site...it is all either theirs, Hurley's or Vecchi's....no Adirondack. I saw some mentions of a pigment but also rare. I am wondering if they discontinued it in favor of these other ones plus the distress line?

Per Google, apparently the Adirondack line of dye based inks was discontinued. Once any remaining stock is/was sold, it will be gone. One of the references was to a Splitcoast Stampers post from 2015 saying the same. I have several of the Adirondack ink pads but TBH I haven't used them in at least 10 years. I don't even know if they're still "inky". I need storage space so I may reclaim the drawer they're stored in. I'll test the pads, if they're usable I'll donate them to Hospice's summer youth camp.

Came across video in google search. I saw info as they are discontinued some time ago.

I bought a multi-pack of Adirondack mini dye ink pads at Michael's recently because I couldn't find Memento Tuxedo Black locally and needed to stamp some images for a swap. I really liked the ink gut couldn't find a large ink pad of the same die. Now I know why. I missed a few years of stamping and crafting because of health issues and I'm amazed at how much I missed while I was away from it.
Thanks for explaining this,
Tracy

They are water-reactive, but some of the colors separate with excess water. I like that effect, so it's just a thing that's good to know... the Denim ink separates into beautiful blues and magentas. That was my faaaaaaaaaavorite line of dye inks, my favorite color palette. I'm still grieving, I think!
