Default altoid tins

This might sound silly but when you decorate them and give as gifts - what do the people end up doing with them? Pill boxes? I want to decorate some but am afraid that they will be like "ok, what am I suppose to do with this?" I tried searching this but couldn't find anything. Thanks for any answers.:-D

I bought some plain ones to decorate, but haven't done it yet. I was planning to put a mini album inside with photos. Other possibilities:

a makeup case - glue a mirror inside the lid, could use to hold lipstick, etc
a case to hold your credit cards
a case to hold some really little toys to keep a kid occupied, like at a
restaurant, on an airplane, etc
keep your altoids or other mints or gum in there
a mini sewing kit for your purse
stamps, paperclips, and an mini pen
condoms? Not me, but somebody probably could use it for that.
spare change

anyone else with any ideas?

I keep one in my car for all that loose change you accumulate while you're out and about running errands/stopping at Beaner's/shopping/stopping at Beaner's/visiting/stopping at Beaner's/driving through a drive thru/stopping at Beaner's. (Bet you can't tell I'm beans for coffee!) It also comes in handy when I need the change for a parking meter.

I've only done a couple of these but they were a big hit. One I did for my teen niece and put manicure stuff in it that I found at Target (emery board, clippers, cutticle things) and the other I did was a mini photo album for my other niece who is a mommy. That was a big hit, especially if anyone has a newborn or a young child. You are always carrying around pictures of those kids (or at least I did until she turned teen and started glaring at the camera with the 'come on and take the picture already' look that I grew to love so much!!!). I think a sewing kit would be a good idea too, mini office, change box. Lots of stuff. Everyone likes boxes.

I made a "car kit" for my brother in law. Had a spot remover, some change, a Starbucks card, a needle and thread, I forget what else -- but it was pretty full -

Default Tooth Fairy Box

I decorated mine as a tooth fairy box for my son. Now all he has to do is put his tooth in there instead of under his pillow. Much easier for the tooth fairy to get the tooth since he's an active sleeper!! LOL!!
