getting irritated with Michael's?? I was told in the store that they only have an ad every other week, so I got use to using my Joann coupons that I get far more often. Well, yesterday I go in to use my Joann coupon, yet again no Michaels ad on Sunday, and I'm told that they no longer accept the computer coupons, it has to be the printed one. Well here's the kicker. We don't get printed ads in this area!! I don't know why, but if I want a real Joann ad, I have to get it from my mom, about 30 minutes north. So now I have no Michaels coupon, and they won't accept my Joann coupon, I've just about had it with them. Unfortunately, where we live craft stores are few and far between so I usually end up ordering online.

Your lucky yours was accepting the printed Joann's. Ours has never accepted them. I only run into M's if there is something that I really need and don't mind not using a coupon on.
I used to ask the clerk at Michael's if there was a current coupon out, and if there was, they would give me the discount without presenting the coupon. I know that AC Moore has stopped giving the discount without presenting the actual coupon, but I'm not sure about the Michael's one near me - usually I use a coupon or they'd take my Joanns one from my mailer. My Michael's won't take a computer-printed coupon from competitors. You could always ask for the discount and see what happens.

Probably the reason why they are NOT accepting Computer Coupons anymore is Because of Fraud Coupons hitting the stores.
I have been told my two other store that they will NOT take coupons that were printed off line..Becasue of this reason!!
What bugged me this week is I got no ad or coupon in Sun.'s paper but when I went yesterday there *were* items on sale. I've never heard of them doing sales with no flyer and I used to work there!

I checked the online site for Mikes and they added that there was not sales ad for this week...How strange!
I noticed that yesterday too.
Our closest Micheal's is over 3 hours away and I have to say that the past couple of times we have been there, they have either been rude or refused to help with coupons so we have walked out empty handed and went to AC Moore instead!
My Michaels never took the on-line printed coupoons. So I just make sure I use the printed ones first if I'm going to Joann. That way I can use the newspaper ones at Michaels.

My complaint with AC Moore is that they will take only one coupon. Joann will take multiple coupons, just so long as they came from different sources.
It seems to be completely dependent on the store manager. My Michael's accepts both Joann and Hobby Lobby coupons, and I've used the computer printed ones for both. They DO make me fill out a little form, but for a discount, I'm up for it!
I'm in WI & I had a flyer w/ a coupon this week also ~~ I've never tried using a J's coupon at Michael's ~~ guess there's never been anything I wanted that badly, lol!!
We had coupons here in Michigan. I like JoAnn's better but I am having problems with finding what I want instock there. I only have 1 JoAnn's near me but 3 Michael's. How weird.

Weird!:o
Huh?? Yes, there was a sale ad this week. The cuttlebug alphas were 25% off. My DH used the 40% off coupon to buy the cuttlebug, I used another one I got from a sale flyer from my mom's newspaper, and while I was looking through the dollar bins at the store I actually found another 40% off coupon laying in there...I used 3 Michaels coupons there already this week.
yeppers there is an ad this week . . . none of them made it into the papers around here but they had some extra ads at the M's I went to . . . saved 40% off a stamp of a cute giraffe.
I was just at Michael's today and used a 50% off coupon from AC Moore that I received in a newsletter (only valid for today). I only printed out half the page because I didn't want to waste all that colored ink that were in the ads. The clerk gladly took it.
What frustrates me is that my local Michael's hasn't restocked their Cuttlebug supplies for more than two months!!! I've been going there almost every week.
I have 2 Joann's and 1 Michaels within 30 minutes of me but neither of them have been worth the drive. I did drive over to one with coupon in tow for a Crop-a-dile and couldn't find them and when I asked a clerk about them, she didn't even know what I was talking about and when I said they were for setting eyelets, she said "what? eyelids?" Oh brother! I ended up with a better deal on line. it was on sale and free shipping with an order of $25 or more so I got it for $17.95. Yeah me! (clap, clap, clap).
I'm also in WI and we didn't have a Michael's ad this week in the paper, and it should have been there as this is the "on" week. I have a paper route, so checked several papers for it, thinking my paper just was missed, but couldn't find a one. I was counting on using it there this week, too. :-(

I think the weekly/bi-weekly must be regional or local. I agree it depends on the manager. I went to a M's in Texas while I was there in school and made a comment to the salesclerk that I wished I had a coupon so I could get something I wanted- and she took me right up to the register and gave me one! My M's would never do that. You're lucky if they say "Thank you."
I agree...I go to two Michael's regularly and both of them have stinky service. First, I can only use ONE coupon at a time, they won't take ANY other coupons and they never have anything re-stocked. I have seen the same ole stamps for the last four months and the ones that I want have never been re-stocked. It's depressing because it's the only arts and crafts store around!
I guess it does depend on the sales clerks, cashiers and managers. BTW, I did get a coupon this week and have decided that I will only use it to buy big items like a Cuttlebug or big ticket items.
I can understand why they wouldn't want to take a coupon that you had printed off on the computer. You could print on off every hour and have no limit. Their whole idea behind the coupon is to get you to come in the store and shop. From the retailer's standpoint, I don't have a problem with them not accepting a competitor's computer print out coupon. Personally, I don't really care for M's but get stuff there when I can't get it elsewhere.

No stores around here take internet coupons anymore. We had a rash of very talented scammers who would print the coupons, alter the amounts, and get gullible cashiers to take the altered coupons. Living in a university town, we have a very young service sector, so many cashiers are high school kids who wouldn't dream of arguing with a customer if a coupon had a bar code that rang up for $.50, but the coupon face said $2.00. It is sad that people can't be honest enough to be trusted with things like that.

On my coupon it states ON LINE OR IN STORES
so I made sure that point was well taken. After my flip out- melt down, they agreed to take it. It also helped that I showed them 8 recent recipets from my shopping ventures there (none in which a coupon was used) and I had spent plenty of $$$.
I told then they should value me as a cutomer and be happy I am spending my $ there and not Joann's. Well my point was well taken and I got my 50% off! LOL!
A couple women in line actually clapped for me! LOL! I wonder if any were from here?
