What stamp set did you just "have to have" out of the new catty and now you are sorry you got it??
I'll go first. I liked All About U right away......I have had it for a month and haven't used it once! Mamak has broken it in for me and I think I'll like it once I use it. But it's still sitting there!
I was just thinking this the other day about one of my new sets. For me it is Heartfelt Thanks, I just love this set, but I've had to force myself to use it. I even used this as one of my stampin' start free sets, I was just thinking the other day that I wished I had picked a different set. But I made a card w/it the other day, and I know it will be a good set, just gotta get inspired. I guess I'll have to look in the gallery for more inspiration! ;)
I have been stamping for 2 days with All About U, and I am loving it! The one I regret is Island Blossoms. I started to cut out the first large flower and never finished - did not get any more done . . . just not interested!!!

For me the set is Fashion Statements. It is a Level 3 hostess set and I thought it was so cute when I saw it. Once I had it in my hands I was stumped with what to do with it. I love the look of the armoire but it usually is used with an exacto knife to cut the doors open. I'm not too handy with an exacto knife and I know most of my customers don't care to use them either.
After I saw all of the beautiful artwork with the other two Level 3 hostess sets, Island Blossoms, and Nature's Secrets, I just had to have them. I have since earned those and love them. I have only stamped one card so far though.
I have bought and earned so many new sets that I haven't had time to play with them all.

I have tendency to buy a set, and then regret it. So, I am taking my time with the new sets in the catty. I have made a list, I scroll through the samples on here daily, and then I am going to slowly decide whether I still "have to have" certain sets. I have already crossed a couple off of my list that I thought I really wanted.

Use a metal ruler when making straight cuts with the Exacto knife. Also, use the slanted blade, not the one with the point. Hold the knife up to eye level and look at the angle. That angle is supposed to sit flat on whatever you are cutting. People tend not to like Exacto knives because they tend to use the incorrect blade for their project. If you use the blade with the point, all you are cutting with is the point. Try the angled blade--kind of looks like it has a step in the middle of it, but the portion you cut with is angled correctly for making straight cuts. (Wish I could describe this better.)
Once you get the hang of using it and your stamp set, just think of the possibilities! Armoire doors open to reveal??? a stack of quilts made from patterned stamps, a secret message, a favorite photo, a view of a stamped scene, maybe Alexander Hamilton's face--in green--with a big ol' number '10' in four corners (ten bucks), or the logo for someone's favorite restaurant printed on a gift certificate.
Purchace wise I did good- but I picked made from scratch for my hostess set and didn't even mount it cause I just keep staring at it wondering what the hee haw I do with it! (Finally decided to trade it!)
I don't regret it but it's not that easy to use yet - Canvas.
I'm thinking Crosshatch might have been better.
I also don't regret it but I know I won't use it for quite some time so I'm not excited to have it now, but if I didn't get it I would have been sorry later - Godspeed.
I'm jealous of those of you with Island Blossom - I love it. It would go great with my Do the Hula set and Island wheel.
Word for Word BG stamp, I think that's the name. I thought it would be great and just can not seem to get inpired by it all. Should have purchased Floral instead. Sue

I do the same as you do, I dont regret much tho, cause i hem and haw for weeks before I get a set!! lol I make a list first off, then almost weekly, go thru the catty again, with my list, so I dont get that dreaded buyers remorse. I look for sets that go with what I have, and if they "fit" with my style. I havent bought any new catty sets yet, just cause I waited on what I wanted from the Summer Mini!!! lol Just got those, so now I will be looking at what I put on my list, and decide!! ;)
This is slightly off topic, but...
I just qualifies for a level 3 hostess set, looked at it and decided to go with a level 1 and a level2 instead. I also liked the armoire set, but common sense told me it was cute, but what would I ever do with it? This way I got two that I knew I really liked.
I am neurotic about making lists. I have made tens of lists for the new catty. Almost everynight before I go to bed I review and revise. I am at the point now where I won't buy unless I have a specific idea/need for a set...like swell news which filled a gap in my collection. I have had to stop buying because it is 'just so cute!' If I can't come up with a SPECIFIC idea, I wait.
Although, this site has not helped... And I have an awesome demo whose sole purpose in life is to separate me from my money with her awesome workshops and parties....
The addiction continues

Yikes Emily!! Although I must fess up too that the set you traded to me (Lovely Leaves) hasn't been opened since I received it yet either. LOL!! I did get the All About You set and have used it. In fact, when I am done posting threads I was planning to do a few more cards with it.
As for a set that I had to have out of the new catty, there are few and I really haven't gotten much yet...but I thought I had to have Little Pieces and was dying to buy it, but when it came down to it, I decided that it would probably become one of those little used sets that I just had to have.

I think mine would be Home Is Where The Haunt Is. I mean, I like it, have used it but I think there's only so much you can do with it. Seems like the layout of the card is always the same. I'm thinking of trading it. Not sure yet.

Heartfelt Thanks. I never thought I'd say that. I loved it the day I got my catalog, and everytime I changed my "birthday party for me" list, that was at the top. Now I'm having trouble using it. I wish I'd gotten the gnomes! Gay Howe
I got petal prints and didn't like it at all...Thought I would really love it...from what I saw in the gallery..I couldn't seem to get it to work...so I traded it...probably regret it later..

For me, it would be Word by Word BG stamp. I just couldn't get it to work as one stamp and I felt too guilty about cutting it up into 22 stamps. So, I traded it.
Heartfelt Thanks. Love all the samples in the gallery, but haven't been able to do much with it on my own yet. I'm thinking if I CASE a few cards I'll get inspired. Having trouble matching up the outline stamp - makes me feel like a dork!
Heartfelt thanks! It was always on my ever changing 'for sure" new catalog and I kinda regret getting it. I am having a hard time using it and it doesn't inspire me for some reason. There are some beautiful samples here using it but I don't case very often so if its not inspiring me I don't use it much :( and when I have tried I haven't really liked what I've created.
I'm not sure yet, I haven't used all of the sets I got because I'm still in "petting them" stage. You know, they are new and pretty, don't want to use them yet.
There is not one single set in the entire new catty that I "have to have". What's wrong with me???????????
Nothing! You're perfectly healthy! I'm with you (actually, what I need is to use the sets that I have). I only had to have one from the new catalogue -- Provencal (a hostess set) and I bought it off of a demonstrator. So I'm happy.
There are always the mini-catalogues though, so there may be something for you yet! (I'm thinking Reindeer Prints, myself. It's go sooooo well with Etruscan).
