I know there is a forum maybe more suited for "searching" for a stamp, but this is not a typical search. To make a long story short, I am looking for a stamp for a very special friend. She has been in love with it for a long time. IT is Rubber Stampede's Santa Collage. It is a cheery Santa face stamp.
My friend has liked this stamp for a long time, about a year, since she received ONE copy of an image of it in an image swap. She had no idea what its name was and no name was with the image as to who stamped it. Lo and behold, it shows up in a magazine and we find the name of the stamp maker. MUCH SEARCHING later, I cannot find anyone who sellls it. It is a current stamp, but it seems that it is done being manufactured for the season, so the best hope is second hand or via a local store that might just have one. I have gone through about 5 Net search engines. At one point I came up with one on an auction site, but it was an England sale only. I have had several leads, even talked at length to the Rubber Stampede company. I don't mind doing the legwork. She's a wonderful friend (I'm sure you know the type!) and she's worth it.
Get this... Rubber Stampede even told me that THEY get five or six calls a day for this stamp! Of course, I had NO IDEA that it was going to be such a wild goose chase. It's listed on their current list on their site, so I figured if it's current, I can get it. I know it's possible. I feel very confident, but I need a little help.
Do any of you SCS ladies know any places I could check, or by chance happen to have one, even if it's used?
I appreciate any and all responses... THANK YOU...
There is a huge stamp store in Lockport IL, that can usually track things down. Their website is www.stampthyme.com Try emailing and see if they can come up with something for you. Good luck!
The last time I "had" to have a certain stamp from Rubber Stampede, the company provided me with the name of retailer in Chicago. I got in contact with him, and I got my little Christmas Moose.
Maybe customer service can give you the names of retailers with large Christmas orders, if they can't pin point exactly who might have the stamp.
Good idea to be looking now and not wait until later in the season.
My suggestion is to go to your local stamp store and ask them to order it for you. Since it is current, they should be able to do that. Sorry that I don't have one, or I'd send it to you....I know the kind of friend your talking about....I have one, too. Aren't we the lucky ones???
Inkarella-- I live about 25 min. from Stamp Thyme. It is THE BEST stamp store in the world. Believe it or not, that is where I started my search. I called them and they said they cannot get it, or many others at this point, from Rubber Stampede. This has become quite a challenge! But I won't give up!
Is it a large stamp? Send me a pm, I might have it. Mine has a full face? I d have to dig it out but send me a pm with an alt. email address and I will send you a scan
I'm not sure if this is the one or not, but ebay has an auction that was just put on, I believe. It has 6 days left. Look under Santa Collage Rubber Stampede. If this is the one, it's a beautiful stamp. Hope this helps!

I did some more digging and I also found a website that sells that stamp. It is in the UK, but that might not be a problem. I won an auction last month and the item came from England. I found a currency converter online or they could probably tell you the US cost, and I received it in a little over a week. The website is cheddarstamper.co.uk - I hope you find what you're looking for.
