OK, I have had a look, and this is what I have to say.
Not much in there to suit those of us who love detailed, artistic, vintage... lots of cute, and very simple drawing that I could do myself without benifit of a stamp. I am actually a bit disappointed.
That being said, I love the textured CS, the blingy brads are gorgeous but pricey, there is a beautiful Christmas set much like the old sleigh ride one. But then again, I am not into cute, I like timeless and classic.
Anyone else brave enough to agree with me, or am I all alone in my impressions? :(
I totally agree with you, so do my sister, my mother and 99.9% of my customers. So sad :(
I haven't actually seen the new catty yet, but from what I've heard I think I'm more excited about the accessories and papers than any of the stamp sets.
The scrapbook kits are nice, but more expensive. They're now $19.95. HOWEVER, they do come with double sided paper (I think it's 6 sheets) and textured CS (I think there are 8 sheets of that), so there is more paper in them now. Same amount of stickers. They finally did a Christmas one that is not all primary colors, which I like, as I'm not really into bold brights!
Quick question too on the cover - how did they do the scalloped page? Now, I know you can get close to that look with our current (current until Sunday) corner rounder, or heck, by just buying Bazzill's scalloped paper, but the new corner rounder seems smaller so I don't see how they got scallops like that. Anyone know on that one?

Ladies is there a place online we can sneak peek yet?
Cmon throw me a crumb :P
Somewhere in this thread there is a link to a blog that has a picture of the front cover. Past that, I don't know where else to get a sneak peak other than from a demo!
I do have to say though, that I literally sat for several minutes admiring the cover last night and moving it around in the light - love the sparkly part of it! And I wonder if maybe, just maybe, they'll come out with some sparkly paper like that so I don't have to glitter it myself!

I think that what you are looking at is actually a chipboard frame thingy. There is a set of chipboard called ginormous pieces (or something like that) and it has big scallop edge stuff (it's very cool!) HTH!

OH! I was so tired last night when I was hungrily perusing the catty that I didn't notice the chipboard frame. That makes sense! Thanks! Such smart girls here in SCS. You ladies never cease to amaze me!
Can anyone tell me what the pre-selected stamp sets are in the new demo kit?
Thanks,
Karla
someone will probably beat me too this cause i type slow but from the picture i see in the catalog it is:
Greetings Galore
Loads Of Love
Heartfelt Thanks
Itty Bitty Backgrounds
Much Appreciated
YES! I finally have my hot little hands on my very own copy!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to digest it all yet, but I did take a look through it with my demo and there are some cute things I hadn't heard about yet. (Which I can't believe because this thread is so extensive that there weren't a lot of surprises.)
I agree that the samples seem to have been taken to the next level. Lots of very nice stuff to case. Off to drool some more.
Just got in and checked out all your posts since I posted my disappointed comments. I still don't have my own copy but I'm trying to remember what all I saw at my demo and friend's house.
No wedding sets, apparently people don't get married from July until January. Baby sets are like the ones in the sneak peak, no beautiful set like Buggies and Booties. There is a really nice Thanksgiving set, more to my personal taste I suppose. The textured CS makes my heart sing, as do a lot of the accessories. So there is some excitement for me, just not in the stamp sets themselves.
I admit that I just don't have the same taste as the new trends, I lean toward timeless rather than trendy. So I hope no one took offense at my negative remarks. In real life, I am quite a happy soul, and very optimistic! That is why I know some will grow on me as I see your creations in the coming months.
Thanks for letting me rant You are such a good bunch...!
Is the Crop-o-dile pink, like the one you can get at the store - for like $20, not the $40 SU! is asking??
The Crop-a-dile in the catty is $29.95 US. That's the same price I paid for mine in our Ben Franklins. I'm glad that was added so now I can take mine to our stamping club each month and not be stepping on demo's toes.
For those who don't have the catty yet, I think you're going to love the look of it. They layout is really nice with great samples on every page. My opinion is that the best part of this catalog is the accessories. I think (or hope) the kind of stamps most are looking for will be in the next catalog. I can't wait to see some cards done with Illumiations. If you don't like designer paper this catalog just may change you mind.

Everyone is entitled to their own taste and opinion :-D isn't that what makes the world go round?
I agree....waaaayyyy too much 'cutsie' I'd like to see more vintage etc. Most of the swirls, circles and images can be easily hand drawn.
Just my humble opinion.

I just got my catalog tonight. Even with all the discussion here, there were still plenty of surprises! I found many stamp sets and accessories I already NEED! I don't know how I'm going to cram most of my purchases in just 6 months!
Personally, I thought there was a nice balance between cutesy, realistic, and artistic... I didn't feel overloaded by any one type. Of course there are things I wish were in there, but there's always January, and it'll be here before we know it!! So many gorgeous things--can't wait to see all of the wonderful creations!
JUST MY OPINION BUT...
I got a sneak peek from my demo at stamp club last night and ZOWIE!! I LOVE it ALL! I MUST have it ALL!! BEST CATALOG EVER in my opinion!! Okay I'm done now! ;)
CardMaker2...I am brave enough to agree with you, I thought I was the only one a little underwhelmed by the new catty. Made my wishlist last night and the only ones I liked were 2 new word sets, the rest of the ones I liked carried over from the last catty <sigh>. I like the new in colors, texured CS, and rhinestone brads, guess i will be buying from the back of the book!

Thank you, I do feel validated and a bit better now. I will be ordering accessories too, and the one sleigh ride Christmas set.
I, too feel underwhelmed. I'm disappointed in all the "line drawing" stamps--they look as if a child could have drawn them. I miss the more "detailed" stamps, like "Coast to Coast" (lighthouses), "Sun-Ripened", and "Changing Seasons" (covered bridges.) And why no Pearl Ex? There's so much one can do with Pearl Ex!
I'm a little curious as to why they would go with so many line drawing stamps when rubber is capable of stamping such rich detail. You can get line drawings with any number of the much less expensive acrylic designs.
