I just called stampington to do a change of address and mentioned to the lady that I had sent some stuff in for Take Ten and I just wanted to make sure I got my free issue if I happened to make it in. She said she could transfer me to someone that should be able to tell me if I made it or not but all I got was her voice mail. Anyone heard if they made it in yet? Does the free copy come in the mail before or after it is for sale on the stands?
I've been wondering about this, too, since it is supposed to be available September 1. I called, but they said the person who could answer my questions was out of the office.

I called last week and also got someone's voice mail. Never received a call back. ?? I'd love to know if I need to pre-order my TT5 or if I get a free copy!
I also had sent in 2 cards for this issue's challenge, but also didn't hear anything. I went ahead and preordered before July 25 because it was only $12.95 (I think that's what it was). If I get in and get a free copy, I have a number of people to pass the extra one too. I guess I'd be pleasantly surprised :o if I did make it in.

I read in another post (somewhere here on Splitcoast) that Stampington has a lead time of SEVERAL months. So, although you send something in this month, it may take six months before it appears in the magazine.
Just went to Stampington and found this in their Submission Guidelines...
"Due to the unusual production of The Stampers' Sampler we may hold artwork for an unspecified time until it can be published. We gratefully acknowledge your patience while we assemble and create the pages of this unique publication. "
It can be months before an item appears in a magazine. They may use submissions at any time to suit their needs.
I work in publishing and this is the way it is. Sometimes they are working on pages with themes and if a card you made fits a theme it may be used. If it doesn't fit a theme - no matter how innovative or great a card is - they may keep it for a different issue.
They don't do it that way to be mean to us, they just have limited space to put stuff in and timelines. Most of the time a magazine will choose art based on theme - not necessarily how innovative or artsy it is. It's unpredictable.
Sit tight, I know it is frustrating waiting to find out if your stuff made it in. I'm sure you'll get your free issue if your stuff made it!
