just can't use it cause you have smaller hands? Or use it still but have a sore thumb after just doing a few punches? I love my crop-a-dile, and I just got it (i'm a little behind the trends) and have been using it alot making some of those coaster boxes, and after just a few times using it, I have to take a break, it hurts....
who else is out there is the same boat??

I can do it just fine, but I know lots of people that have the same frustration. My biggest frustration is the short reach. I love it to punch anything it is so sharp and strong, but it only reaches a few inches into the paper. I find myself always reaching for the anywere punch and setter. :(

I also wish the reach were longer! I don't use it much because of that.

I have small hands and have had carpal tunnel surgery too so I feel your pain. It can be a bit unwieldy since it is so top heavy. I wish the reach was longer and the handle not so wide but I guess we can't have everything.
I agree the handle span is a bit wide and I sure would like a longer reach too. But until I got it there was no setting eyelets or snaps for me so I do like it.
I close the handle a little using both hands then grip with the right not letting it open again to full capacity and pace myself on time of use.
DH thinks that is one impressive tool! He was also impressed that I got it 50% off with a coupon!
I too find it difficult sometimes but overall I am very satisfied. I've never tried setting eyelets the "old fashioned way" but after seeing all the tools needed for it the crop-a-dile is the one for me! Its such a breeze and sometimes if I'm trying to steady something I just get DH to come hold it for me. It's a team tool!
I have to agree with you and I have fairly large hands - an octave and three keys reach on the piano. I'm experimenting with wrapping a rubber band around it to hold it together a bit so I don't have to reach so far.
I love mine as do my 2 dd's. my oldest dd (17) struggles with it a little because she has such small hands. but she loves it as much as I do. lately she has been using it more than me. I am also thinking she needs her own table so I can get to mine. LOL !
I have VERY tiny hands and it is a bit difficult, but it's SO much easier than ANYTHING else on the market that I deal ;) Actually it's not that bad, I just have to use 2 hands to get it to close partially before making the final punch.

I was just going to suggest that maybe a short bungee cord would help (wrapped around the handle). I think the bungee cord would be less likely to accidentally break.

I love it for cutting through thick things, but I don't use it to set eyelets, and yes, I have tendinitis issues in my right (dominant) hand/arm. I can't use it for prolonged periods of punching, but when I need a hole through a popsicle stick or chipboard, nothing does the job like the CAD.
I keep hoping they'll develop a longer reach in this tool. I'm bummed that now I own a pink one, they came out with one with a GREEN handle--kinda celery like! Waaaaaaah!!!
