Aqua Painter alternative?

Just curious if Michaels sells anything that compares to Stampin Up's Aqua Painter?

Will I get same effect if I just use a small paint brush and some water?

I don't have the SU brand aqua brush, I think I have some from Royal & Langnickel, and some from Niji. I far prefer water and a good brush, but that's probably just personal opinion. For me, I find I have more control over the amount of water. And that's coming from someone who has no easy water supply in my craft space, do in theory a water brush would be more practical.

I am pretty sure SU uses Pentel Aqua Painters, or it is very similar. That brand is all over and I use it, purchasing from Amazon a few years back. I think you can do the same with a brush and water.

Not sure if it's available at Michaels, but I love the Zig Detailer brush by Kuretake. Many years ago I had SU's aquapainters set and they always leaked too much water. I never have that problem with my Zig detailer.

I have SU and another brand of similar quality (and price) and they are all good - I have some that were $1 and they are not (bristles fall out)
anyway - the ones at joann's and/or michaels are good. they both should have them

A brush and water would work fine, use a good quality so you don't lose bristles.

My all-time faves are by Kuretake. Also, Niji offers a super-small tipped brush that's wonderful. Here's a nice article to compare a variety of choices.
