I am so excited that the opening of Archivers is tomorrow!!! Anyone going to the Grand Opening? I will be there bright and early to try for a prize LOL The ad says door prizes and make and takes!
Darn it! Why can't they open it on a Tuesday or Thursday when ds has pre-school! LOL!!! I will probably be there tomorrow morning after Jazzercise. I will be the sweaty worn out woman there with a 3 year old boy! If anyone gets one of the door prizes, don't forget to come on here and brag about it!
I am going but probably not 'til 12:30. I had already scheduled my daughter's reqired sports physical which because of her schedule I cannot change.
Oh well. Will probably miss the "first 100". I'm excited about the free workroom with all the die cut tools.
Wait just a minute! When I visitied Archiver's in Minneapolis last fall, I specifically requested (well, pleaded actually) that we get an Archiver's here in the D/FW area ... ... more specifically, north of the DFW airport. I even offered to "consult", etc. ;) Apparently, my 'request' was misunderstood, eh?
Guess I'll be looking up MapQuest to Cedar Park soon! ;)

Silly girl. Its actually open RIGHT NOW! I called, yup they are open. But, I won't be able to make it there til Saturday. Between MOPS tomorrow AM and volunteering at the book fair at DD's school, I'm booked tomorrow.
Oh well, don't buy out the store folks!

Thanks for the heads up! I just called them and they are open until 9 p.m. I may just have to head out there when dh gets home. WOO HOO!!!!

Make sure to apply some common sense to the route Mapquest suggests! We used Google Maps to generate directions from CS to Katy last week, and instead of telling us to simply take Hwy 6 to the I-10, they had us going on all these backwoods routes to drive the straightest line between CS and the outlet mall in Katy. :P I think we wound up on five or six different highway interstate thingies and it was not very fun!

:o *puts shoes on* oh I am so mad that I didn't know that until now!!!!! I am out of here and checkin' it out
I had a feeling they were already open. I live 10 minutes away--not even that. I played hooky from school today (i.e. took a well-deserved personal day), so I could have gone! Better yet, I could have taken tomorrow off to go to the grand opening. Oh well...I'll have to wait until tomorrow evening.
I did get to play at my LSS (Scrapbook Crossing) today and am doing the crop on Saturday night from 6-midnight! Should be fun! Let us know what you think about Archivers!
So girls how did y'all do? I was there early enough to get the free gift, a stamp and some gold sticker strip thingy. I always forget that I have horrible anxiety attacks in big crowds. I was having trouble breathing and when I got back to work I was tearing up. :( THey asked what I bought and I couldn't even remember. Well it was some good stuff, primas, a chalk applicator, and a super cool stamp set by fancy pants designs. I have to go back in a few weeks when there aren't a kazillion people and their strollers in there!
I went today-- around 10, and they were still giving out the free gift.. the stamp and stickers. What an awesome place. Anything you can possibly imagine! But yeah... it was super crowded and hard to move and see everything. I love Scrapbook Crossing, but I think I've found a new place to play! I bought some stickles, lots of primas, a few of the $1.99 stamps... just a bunch of stuff... $75 later...
I went around 10:30 and it was PACKED!!!! Of course my 3 yo ds decides to throw his fit ever today in Archiver's----aRGGHHHH. I saw Karen (gamblemom) there! The line was so long that I put everything in my basket back on the shelves and decided I would come back ALONE !
It was soooo cool..........I spent 3 hours there and did three make n takes. *waves at Brenda* I saw you struggling with your DS, I think I heard you say, "stay here, I have to be able to see you". It was super crowded until noon then it started to thin out. The ladies that were demo-ing the MNT were so fun and energetic. I liked the stamp selection and the ink selections too. It was a nice mix of paper crafting.
I saw the owner of Scrapbook crossing lurking around and I felt so sorry for her. I know she was thinking "where are all these people coming from and why don't they come to my store" Honestly I love the scrap store and will continue to shop there for the stuff I need. Archivers has more stamping related stuff and they have Rubber stamping/card making classes so I will go there for them.
I did get some extremely cool black fun flocking that we used to faux stitch on a tag sample and I just think its the greatest stuff! We took the new quickie glue pen and drew on a zig zag pattern, then applied the flocking to it and it was super cute. I will take a picture and post it later.
I went yesterday and had a ball!! I guess I have been living in a cave, because I had NO idea all the neat goodies out there. I really need to go outside my Stampin' Up bubble.
Where is Scrapbook Crossing? Is it off 1431?

Yes it is........its in the Railroad Crossing shopping center and its a really nice store and they carry all the new papers and alterables and stuff. Its on the far end and toward the back if you are coming from 183.
I'm dying here girls. I really can't even get over there until tomorrow afternoon. **why did I volunteer for the book fair on a Friday evening?**
I'll be dropping DD at her b-day party tomorrow at 2pm and will have some mommy time!!
I also go to scrapbook crossing once in awhile. I'm from Minnesota where Archivers started (the first one was a mere 8 minutes from my house :mrgreen and I have to say, the LSS's that wanted to compete had to up their game.
I am so happy to being living in a city with Archivers again!!

I just compared prices to a product I purchased while I was in VA 2 weeks ago at a LSS and I have to say Archivers is much cheaper. Wow I am feeling ripped off! I had gotten the Art Glitter 7 vile multi pack glitter in VA and paid 13.99, Archivers had other colors so I grabbed it in the Rainbow pack, I paid 11.99 for it today. *grumbles*
