I just recently found the Patstamps Technique Junkie Newsletter thanks to stampercamper who posted the beautiful Expressionistic Watercolor card.
I have cut and pasted the follwing quote from her:
"The Technique Junkie newletter is a paid subscription produced by Pat Huntoon. It is absolutely WONDERFUL and a must have! To find out more information go to http://www.patstamps.com and follow the links to the newsletter. I have absolutely all the additions and would never consider missing one! Newsletters have everything from simple to advanced techniques and very good step-by-step tutorials to walk you through the technique. I LOVE it!"
I 3-hole punch mine, keep in a view 1" binder. In the "view" front/spine I created in WORD cover for the binder. I keep the newsletters in the back, because in the front I created an index of my favs that I use. I made my own pages of my creations using Pat's Techs, and in my own words created my step-by-step instructions to coordinate w/my cards. Sometimes its easier for me to see my words w/my cards for me to better "grasp" the idea.
I keep mine in a three ring binder also. However I'm not as organized as you and have some that need to be filed. This is my New Years resolution-to be more organized and put things away when finished.
it is a wonderful resource that I just love. I am placing each newsletter in a plastic page protecter then in a 3 ringed binder. This newsletter is well worth the money. They are very fast too. Once you send them your money either through paypal or even a check, you get it a week later.
I also store mine in plastic page protectors in my binder. I also get the stampingscrapbookers newsletter as well and put that in the binder at the back!
I was just visiting Pats Gallery... Can I get some opinions??? Do I go back and order some of the old issues? If so, should I go back to 10/02 or the 10/04 issues?? It sounds like those of you who are getting her tech.s are happy with the issues. I am looking for some new ideas for the new year. Got to get a jump start!
Thanks for the input

You can order the Technique Junkie CD's (there are 2) ... they contain all the issues, plus bonus techniques. They are great!!!
I've been thinking about subscribing too, and when I saw the Expressionistic Watercolor card I started playing with the idea again. Now you guys have talked me into it. I've just subscribed for one year. Later I might get the CDs, they sound good too.
Thanks for all the great tips and ideas ladies!!! I will order a 3-ring binder on my next Viking order!! I really think I will refer to these alot and demo the techniques to my customers at workshops, etc.
--As far as those of you asking if you should order the back issues---YES YES YES!! That is what I did and I am so glad I did!! They are awesome! And it did only take about a week for my package to arrive once I submitted my PayPal payment.
 I am the kind of person that likes to 'see things done' to get the full understanding (a.k.a. tutorials) WELL with your membership password you can log on to her members only web site and look at the turtorials for EACH new technique!!! PLUS a BONUS one too!!! How cool!! The FULL COLOR newsletters are really sharp too!!
Sam asked about the online feature.....
The paper newsletters have a listing of the supplies you need to do the technique, step-by-step written instructions, and a sample project made with the technique. Online in the subscriber area you'll find a photo of all the supplies needed, a picture of each step of the process, and a page of gorgeous samples made by Pat and her design team "The Turbo Team."
I am so glad that someone started this topic. I have many questions. I have been mulling over the idea to purchase all the newsletters. If you have the newsletters why would you want the CD's? Is there something different on the CD's? And.......if you purchase the CD's why would you want the newsletters? I guess that I am miss "frugal annie" and am thinking about spending $80+.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to order????

If I had all the newsletters I wouldn't get all the CDs (although there are "bonus" techniques on them). But if you don't have all the newsletters, it's great to have the CDs.
My computer isn't in my stamp room, so I'd prefer the newsletters in a 3-ring binder rather than CDs so I can flip through them when I'm looking for inspiration. Why??? Because I'M TOO LAZY to stop stamping, go to another room, and look at the CD. Also, I'm easily distracted - since I would be at the computer I'd probably check mail & log onto SCS while I'm there & I'd never make it back to stamping!!!
I must say that Pat's TJ Newsletter is a MUST HAVE for any stamper. Also, you should check out her Stamping Scrapbooking newsletter. It has different techniques and many of of them can be used for cards. They are also great for impressing scrapbooking customers!!!

I ordered both the newsletters and the CDs. There are bonus techniques on the CDs. I must say that I mostly use the paper newsletters, but since I have a Laptop, I sometimes carry it into my craft room and use it there. Tthen again, I am a technique junkie. If there's a new way to do something, I'm there and want to learn how to do, how I can change it, and how I can create with it! I am always in search of new techniques. Pat's TJ Newsletters are a reference I refer to over and over again when I'm planning stamp camps, classes, or even when I'm making holiday cards.
If you think about what you spend every time you walk into Michael's, Joanne's, or (my personal money trash can) Archiver's, this is a great investment!!!
I've thought about subscribing, but didn't want to spend the money! I think I will now after hearing all the positives! Are there any negatives to it before I make the leap?!?

I ordered the cd's. Subscribers get a discount on the cd's and they are very nice -- each technique is a photo tutorial (like on the subscriber's web site) and in pdf format so you can print any of the techs out on paper if you need them.
I am visual, so I really need the photo tutorials! I like them as well or better than the actual newsletter.
This has helped make up my mind as to whether or not to subscribe Another suggestion for storing is the plastic magazine 3 ring slide type holders. There's another name for them ,but can't think of it right now. You slide 1/2 of the magazine through it. No holes to punch and you wouldn't take a chance of punching needed info from your newsletter. Then you place it in a 3 ring binder. I'll email my friends for help with the name.
Kimilou---
I would be interested in knowing more about this storing method too---ask your friends where they get them!! Another great idea from a fellow SCS!!!
Thanks!
Please Stop,
Now I have something else to add to my must have list. I am relatively new to this site and all the wonderful sharing of ideas and products is putting a hefty dent in my pocket book  I now MUST get the Technique Newsletter and CD, how can I stamp without them? I am so amazed at the beautiful techniques featured in this gallery. Thank goodness I have a very understanding DH. BTW I am from Canada so everything costs more here. I will worry about storing them when they arrive.
The holders are called "Magazine Holders" I get them from office stores I've even gotten them from Viking. Mine are made from "Rogers" (brand).
Have a great New Year

As Mommamea has already stated you can get "magazine holders" made by Rogers at some office supply stores. They are distributed through Nowell Office Products out of Madison, Wisconsin. There is also a brand by Lo Ran called " book keepers". They are out of Dal craft in Tucker, Georgia. We've found those in places like Michael's and Joann's in the stitchery departments. Every now and then you can find them at Walmart but ours hasn't carried them for a while. There's usually 25 in a package but I can't remember the cost and neither could my friends. We tend to buy a bunch when we find them and don't look again till we run out. Hope this helps :!: :!: :!:

It took me a while to spend the $$$ for the Technique Newsletter, but once you do you will wonder how you EVER lived without it!!! You will notice that when the newsletter comes out, all of the wonderful cards that appear on SCS that you think are way out of your league (look like the artisits are professionals) are something you can do too! That is because the techniques are shown in a clear format and all you have to do is follow directions! Soon you will be looking at the cards you have long admired, and will be able to say, Oh... she did that card with ___ technique out of the TJ newsletter... I am going to try that!!!!!
Although I have a very long way to go, the TJ newsletter has really improved my talent with the ink pads and rubber stamps in the past year..............
Oh, I have some of the paper copies - and enjoy them, but both of the CD's are excellent!!!
I have all the back issues and just got the CDs too. I love it.
I store the issues in page protectors - BUT, I actually tear apart the issue, carefully, and put each page separately in its own protector. This way I can flip through it easily too.
I noticed that some of the early issues were too close to the edge for me to want to hole punch.
I also started an index for it, but am behind one or two issues. This isn't really important, as the website is easy to use, to find things.

If you purchase the cd's you can print an index from them as well. I enjoy the paper copy, but the cd's are what my visual brain really needs. Plus I don't have the hassle of having to sign on the the internet since the cds contain all the info from the member web site.

Oh Kathy--
What a wonderful idea---carefully tear apart each page and place one page per page protector!! That deserves a "Bright Idea" award ;) I had thought about the page protector thing but hadnt thought about it like you did!! This way you can see each page without having to take it out of the protector!!!
The littlest things excite me!! I cant wait to do that now!! Thanks!!
My computer is in a different room from my stamping room, but the computer directions are so very clear and explicit, that I like to check them out. But then I go back to my stamping table, and at least I can lay out the page next to me, and am generally able to follow the directions, esp. if I've looked at them online already. I know sometimes that just reading them isn't enough. That's why the online technique being photographed is SO helpful.
