Just thought I would let you B.C.er's know that I am in your beautiful province on holidays and am having a great time. We live in Edmonton and have come to Osoyoos for the 3rd year in a row. Ever since we bought our trailer in 1999 we have come to B.C. for our holidays ahd love your province. It is so beautiful!!!! We just came back from wine tasting - ummmmm. The temps are in the mid 30's and it is raining in Edmoton so we are smiling!
I'm a native BCer, but now live in the US. Shhhhhh!!!! Please keep the beauty of BC quiet. Everytime I go back to visit my family my hometown of Kelowna has grown another leap and bound and I just can't stand it anymore. ;)
Take care, Brenda
(the Ogopogo is a scary lake monster that takes many lives every year. Beware those traveling to the Okanagan Valley). ;)
Lots of people swear they have seen the ogopogo. I always get my picture taken with the ogopogo statue at the waterfront when I go. Last year my son got his picture taken with him too!!
When we went to Kelowna we visited St. Hubertus the vinery that burnt down during the forest fires. Well, they have rebuilt the vinery and have a little stamp store there. It's quite small, but I had to buy yet another Canadiana stamp while I was there.
Enjoy your time in Osoyoos, but please remember to tell everyone what an awful time you had when you get back home. ;)
Qbee...... You are so funny! I know what you mean about places growing by leaps and bounds! I live just south of the B.C.__Washington border. My own little town of Lynden is spreading out to cover acres of good farm ground {shed a tear} and I can hardly find my way around when I travel northacross the border to Abbotsford or Langley.
Garnet, I'm sorry to hear that your little town is being swallowed up by development too!! Washington is certainly growing too and is just as beautiful as my native BC. I would love to live in WA as it would be close to home. Shall I start an anti-tourism campaign for WA too!! I hear big foot is still on the loose and that many people go missing mysteriously from camping and hiking excursions.
Shhhh! Let people think it rains here all the time. We want to keep that a secret. I was born and raised in Vancouver and have family throughout the province. It is a beautiful place, we are very blessed to live here. Come visit anytime!

It will be so hard for me to go back and lie about B.C. saying the weather is lowsy and the scenery is ugly. We soo love it here. Don't worry the housing in Okanagan, Shusuap and Osoyoos is quite a bit higher than Edmonton, none of us could afford to live here anyway. But it is so beautiful. We are having a great time!!!
Great to hear you love it here! I am in Kelowna and wouldn't live anywhere else! Prices are all relative.
And as for Ogopogo, he's friendly, hasn't eaten a person ever! The real lake monster is the bridge! Scary!
If you are in Kelowna, check out the new scrapbook store in on Hwy. 97,(Harvey Ave.) by Orchard Park mall, right beside Arby's and Wendy's. It's small but has lots of new products. I practically live there! Sandy doesn't have much for stamps though. There's a store downtown but I never go there, old stock.
Have fun!
Kelli
