I did these for my daughters baby shower. Got a lot of compliments on them. We just made them together and they went together pretty fast.
HTH! I think it could be adapted for an announcement. You could put the pic inside.
Hi! Congrats! I had my baby girl last Feb. I used pretty in pink and barely banana and made a tag. I put her stats printed in pale pink on vellum on one side and a black and white pic on the other. at the top i used a daisy with a brad in the middle and through it looped pink gingham ribbon for them to hang on their fridge. I don't have one scanned, or I would show you. Hope you can picture it. LOVE the name Selah!
I love Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa together. I know that the brown isn't traditional, but it makes a great shabby chic combo and I think it would look fantastic with a black and white photo or a sepia-toned picture.
Have fun making the announcements!

I made announcements for a friend using cameo coral as the base color. It is pinky, but just different enough from the traditional pink to grab your eye. My friend loved the idea. They ended up looking great! If you are using SU paper, it might be worth investing in the new color coach. I hear it is awesome!

And one last one. This one is actually one I have been playing around with. I am not 100% thrilled with it yet, but you might be able to come up with something based off of it It's a frame card. You cut an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper in half the long way so you have a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of paper. Decorate it anyway you like remembering that you will cover up most of the front half of this piece. Then you fold that piece in half and put it aside. Then you cut a 4 1/2 x 4 inch piece of paper and accordian fold it at every inch. You put tape on the ends of that piece and stick it to the bottoms of that folded over card. I think this is easier to understand from the picture I posted. You can see it a showing a little bit at the bottom. Anyway, then you decorate the front like a mat for a framed picture and slide a picture in. What I did was have it so you could pull the picture out and the baby's measurements/birth date etc...were behind the picture.
So I've compiled some ideas and this is what I have come up with so far. Not sure if I like this for the 'one' yet. I found some other ones in the gallery I'd love to case and modify.
