This is a technique I have never seen, tried, or heard of until today. Maybe it is a common technique and I've just been living under a rock alll these years!
Any one have any info on it?????
I'm so curious.

I've never heard of that either, so I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone under that rock ;). I hope someone "in the know" will post about this intriguing technique!
It is my understanding it is a technique they demonstrated on the SU cruise. I did it at my uplines the other night. It is really cool. Has a neat look/effect.
Lay a baby wipe in a dish and use two or three reinkers and drip around randomly on the baby wipe they bleed together and make sort of a stamp pad for you.
Use a solid stamp and dip into the stamp pad and stamp on your paper.
I have a card we did I will try to scan and post here.
Your card is beautiful! with such a gorgeous color combo too!!
I just tried this real quick for fun! and boy is it fun!!!
Be prepared for totally inky fingers !!!!
I used Rose Red, Rose Romance and Pale Plum...just because that's what I have... with the solid flower from Shapes and Shadows and I think it looks totally awesome... a very soft look.
Wow,,, that is a beautiful card, love the technique,, I can see lots of possibilities here...

I knew you ladies would come through and explain this technique! The card that is posted looks awesome- I cant wait to try this. Gotta go get me some wipes!
So they did it on the SU cruise....
I realy wanna earn that cruise next year!

Wow...what a great technique and beautiful card! I have a crazy question. I just found a box of dried out Pampers wipes leftover from those diaper days - will this technique only work on wet baby wipes? I suppose I could experiment, but thought maybe someone here had tried it already .
Have never tried this technique but gives a great look to the stamped image - makes the next thing on my wish list the re-inkers (just have a few I can experiment with), with the new colors. Since I have never owed a baby wipe I was going to try this using a paper towel, folded to give it some cushion and dampened with water, If your old baby wipes have dried out - maybe spritzing with a bit of water to remoisten would work.

Cottonelle wipes (or any of the adult flushable wipes for that matter) would work for those of you who don't have baby wipes in the house. I'll give my dried out wipes a spritz with water and see if they work for this technique.
You know, when you're finished w/ stamping w/ that wipe, try drying it out...sometimes the design is pretty cool and it also make a great background paper!

As a mother of many - and out of diapers now for 3 /12 yrs. (yahoo!!!), if you just get the dried out wipes wet again they will be as good as new!
I've done this many times - ya know those wipe holders that sit in the bottom of the purse and never get found again until years later?!!!
Anyway, I think it would worth a try to just spritz those dried out wipes with water and see what happens.
On the cruise, we also learned that you can used the inked up baby wipe to dab and rub over your card stock to make cool background paper after you have finished using it for the stamping technique. It made really pretty backgrounds!
I'm a beginner so I don't have reinkers at this time. But I have a lot of textile paints.
I used silk paint for the shaving-creamtechnique. This gives a very good result.
I'll try the same with baby wipes, cause I like your beautiful card, Cyndi! I hope this will do too.
Does someone have other suggestions for paints in stead of reinkers?
Thanks HannieH.

I bought some wipes about 5 years ago when I first started stamping. Well, I quit stamping for a while. Then I found out I was going to be a MIL & wanted to stamp again. Then I found out I was going to be a grandma first & thought about those baby wipes. You know they were still good!!!!!! I have lots of new ones now since I have a grandbaby so I think I might try this today..LOL

The 2 Fishy Friends & 1 Cool Cat. I did the backgrounds on all 3 cards by pouncing the inked baby wipe on glossy cardstock -- very similar mottled effect as polished stone but without metallic ink; dries very quickly. On the Fishy Friends cards, I also used the baby wipe to apply the ink on the large rectangle from Great Shapes and used those pieces to stamp the Fishy Friends on. Give it a try -- it was really easy and lots of fun!
And yes, you need to have wet baby wipes so the reinker stays wet in order to apply it. Have fun!
My upline just demoed this at our meeting - it's cool. She recommended that you NOT use the babywipes with little designs imprinted in them (like Huggies have little bears or something) - you won't get a clean image. She recommended Target brand.

Have to try it!
Thanks, Rubbernecker! Yes, I found out the hard way about that little Huggies bear Oh well, I caught it in time before I stamped Cool Cat with a little bear on his tummy, LOL! As long as you don't use the wipe totally flat, you shouldn't have a problem, if the printed wipes are all you have. I only ran into it once.
Sharon, I just went to your gallery to look at your three cards, and got sucked in, I looked at all of them. You do INCREDIBLE work. I just saved a bunch of them to my favorites. GREAT work, you are very talented.

Just tried the technique this morning, and it was really fun! I used the Target wipes (which have designs on them, by the way), but it was OK because I didn't use the wipe flat. I followed the technique where you fold the corners back after you've inked the wipes, then pounce the wipe bundle on the cs. After trying the pouncing on a couple cards, I then tried pounce with a twist, which results in a great look, too. Cool backgrounds!
This is a technique that I also just learned. Way cool! Looks great wiped onto glossy cardstock in streaks. And I love the look you get when you use the wipe as a stamp pad!
One question for those of you in the know. We were told to use babywipes withOUT aloe in them. Does anyone know why? Has anyone used wipes WITH aloe in them? If so, how did it turn out?
I heard about this technique too and had to try it. Of course, I had to go buy some baby wipes since it's been awhile since my boys needed them! Unfortunately, I bought some Huggies wipes before reading the hint to watch out for the little bears! Oh, well. It worked fine, I just was careful about how I folded it up to pounce it on the cardstock.
Here's a link to one card I've already made with this fun technique:
I think it turned out really pretty, but I'd love your opinions.
I've got another Set of stamped images and background papers done with a different color combo, I just haven't actually made it all into cards yet. I'll post again when I've got something finished.
I didn't try the baby wipe with the reinkers, but I took a baby wipe and tapped it on an ink pad and then onto the cardstock. Of course, the cardstock gets damp and I had to dry and flatten it, but I got a nice watercolor background effect.

Okay - that was two questions! LOL!
Thanks!
My Huggies (well, my DD's!) have Aloe in them and did just fine.
