I used to follow Beate here at Splitcoast and also her blog. I know she sold her entire crafting stash and her craft room furniture. Does anyone know why she gave it all up and where did she go? I hope she's happy what ever she is doing, but I can't help thinking she has a great talent and she left me high and dry (not really but you get the funny dramatic emotions;)).
Thanks
I remember when Beate did that, and I was so sad to see her leave the papercrafting world. I have seen her posting occasionally on Facebook, but not anything to do with papercraft. She seems to be enjoying her life!
She lives nearby in a suburb to Oklahoma City, which is where I live.

I think that she just hit burnout and wanted to move on to other things. She was deeply immersed and super-busy for so long, that it's completely understandable. I bought some of her stash, lucky me! It seems to me that she knows how to live a good life regardless of the activities shes pursuing, so I'm sure that she's happy... ;)
Beate's tutorials are still among the best, and listening to her delightful accent just added to the charm of them. It would be great if someone could record an interview with her as an update, to let her know how much we still appreciate her creativity and care that she is content and doing well in her "new" life.
OT Alice, I noticed you're in Maryland - born and raised and lived there (closer to DC) my whole life until we moved to Reston 12+ years ago. Do you ever get to The Queen's Ink in Savage?
And thank you all for introducing a new name to me; I just watched one of Beate's tutorials and loved it - a little "note purse."
She's awesome! She wanted to retire from papercrafting and spend time with her kids before her nest emptied - it was happening fast. She's back in Texas now and all is well! Thankfully all her beautiful creations live on!

Texas now? Her FB page still says Edmond, OK. Wherever she is, I hope she is well and happy!

I enjoy her vids too. I am glad to hear she is doing well, though sad she stopped...maybe one day she will take it up again as so many have. We can hope
If you are in touch with her Lydia, can you let her know we are thinking of her and missing her?
OMG! I am so out of it. I had no idea. No wonder I haven't seen any recent posts from her.
