Default Big Kick and Nestabilities

Need Help
I am trying to use my big kick with the nestabilites to cut my cardstock and I am following the instructions that state to use The Multipurpose stack with all tabs down and layer with the clear acrylic then the nestability plate, cardstock then the clear acrylic layer again. When I try to put it through the machine it makes an awful noise and I usually chicken out before putting it through as I am afraid to brake the clear acrylic plate. How do you layer yours. Have you ever broken a plate?
Do you use some other mat? and if so what is it and where did you get it...I was so excited to finally get my nestabilities and now I am afraid to use them...darn

My layers are multipurpose platform, acrylic plate, die, cardstock, acrylic plate. It works fine. If I want it embossed, I carefully lift up the die with the paper still on/in it, flip the first layer of the platform, put the acrylic plate, die/paper, rubber sheet, plastic plate, and crank that through.

You will hear a noise as it goes though the machine. It's fine. The dies will also cut and scratch the acrylic plates, just continue to rotate them and flip them until you need to replace them. You'll know it's time to replace them when your diecut comes out with dents and dings.

You won't break anything unless you force a too-thick "sandwich" through the machine. So, if you find you're encountering resistance, stop, pull off a sheet of the multipurpose platform, and try again.

Good luck!

I have a BigShot and it too makes a sound as if the acrylic plate got a crack but thankfully it doesn't. And whenever it doesn't make that sound, the CS doesn't get completely cut. So I think if you've to hold your breath once and let the sandwich go thru all the way!

Mine makes that same noise also. I haven't broken a plate yet.

I use the same layers that you listed and make the same noise, no broken plates yet!

I have a BigShot too, and the first time I used my Nestabilites my DH said, "Oops! I heard THAT all the way in here! What broke?" And it was nothing, just the "sound" that it makes! It is a little disconcerting each time though! I bought a bunch of extra plates from the company awhile back so I'd have a good stash of them. I LOVE my Big Shot!

I have a question. Can you run them through the Bigkick without having the embossing line? I'm thinking about getting a set, but I don't want the embossed line on everything I cut. Thanks!
