Default Birthday Cards for Guys

Hi everyone, I'm just starting out and since I've spent a lot of money getting my stamp collection together my husband has banned me from buying cards. My problem is I don't have any ideas for guys. If anyone has ideas that are great for guys please let me know. I listed my sets I have at this time below. Thanks

Around & About; Birthday Best; Fabulous Four; Made From Scratch; Mini Messages; Send a celebration; Sincere Saluations; Small Script; Small Talk; Stipple Celebrations; TEeny TInies; & Wee Wishes.

With the sets you've listed, the best I can visualize is using Around and About in an abstract/geometric kind of pattern for a background and then stamping a sentiment. I usually stick with the earth elements tones or anything neutral or mono-chromatic for guys. Hope that helps. Post what you make!

I just looked up a couple of your sets in the gallery.
"Around and About' makes great backgrounds if you repeat one frame several times. Like this card by inkmonkey6...
Perfect Plum

The little birthday stamp from "Fabulous Four can be centered on almost any background. Here is one by exfib...
60th Birthday

As long as you stay away from pinks and pastels, most of the deeper colors work just fine for a guy.

I've used paint chips from the hardware store to stamp on before.
also, use metal- brads, photo turns

I use internet images when I don't have the right stamp- my fav site to use is www.art.com

You could always do what I do. When I need to do a card for something, and there is a set that I would really like to use, but dont have, I tell my husband that I need to get the set for so $ so's card. It use to work well, but I now have a lot (according to him and my son) of stamp sets. There are still a lot that I still want, but I am being cautious because I want to see the new catty.

NEED TO WIN LOTTERY TO SUPPORT MY HABIT.

Lots of times using more manly colors will help in making a card for a guy. Try a few blues (Bordering, Brocade, Navy) and most of the Earth Elements colors to make your cards look more masculine.

Hope that helps!
