i'm doing a book for my uncle, 7x7, one photo/page, nothing elaborate! each page is of a member of the family, to help an 86 yo failing man remember us! a couple of the pics, present day ones, are B&W. curious if anyone has found any 2 or 3 color combinations that they think go great with these types of pics. not heritage ones, present day, just black and white. thanks in advance for any input!
What a nice idea! I don't think you're really limited to any specific colors for B&W pics. My LSS owner showed us a book she did with all B&W pics and she used lots of different colors. What she did to tie the book together was use one line of patterned paper and kept the layouts very simple.

I think a lot of colors go really well with b&w photos. One of my favorites is bordering blue and real red. If you like the color combination alone, it should be fine adding a b&w photo to the page, imo.
I love black and white photos with black, red and silver. Mary, your dog George is sooooo adorable!!! I still go back to your Georgie Porgie layout often 'cause it always makes me smile!! That one will STAY in my favorites.
Ooh, your post is so timely for me! I just ordered some black and white photos from Snapfish. I used the option to change my color photos to black and white. I love the look of pages made with black and white photos and I wanted to try them for myself. If you notice, Stampin' Up! uses black and white photos a lot in their layouts. Jenn Balcer comes to mind too. I love her 6 x 6 pages using black and white photos!
I can't wait to get my BxW photos now and play with some of these color combos you all have suggested.

thank you all for your replies. you gave me the confidence to say - hey, i am not limited because the pic is black and white! i went ahead and played with the photos and used whatever colors i wanted. :-) i especially like the shot of my folks wedding. though this is an oldie, obviously! but i have a few pics of nieces and nephews that are current and gorgeous but black and white. i feel more comfortable now that i can use them in my book and not be hindered by cardstock colors. thank you all again, your examples were BEAUTIFUL!! i keep forgetting about using the kraft cardstock, i've got to use that on a page soon!
