Default bleach and scrapbooks

Hi. I am a demo and I want to show how to do the bleaching in images technique at a workshop. Do you think I would get reprimanded by hard core scrapbookers if I use bleach on a scrapbook page? I don't know all the rules for scrapbooking. So, I thought I would ask the experts. What do you think? Would you add a bleached accent to a page?

Personally I'm not that worried about stuff like that, as long as it's in a page protector and not touching a photo, I would do it but I think some hard core scrapbookers probably would *not* put a bleached item in a scrapbook.

There is some controversy...some online sources say it's not safe. But Creating Keepsakes Magazine says that once the bleach is dry it is inert and therefore safe for scrapbooking.

When it comes to photo safety you can do a number of different things:
1. Avoid using things that are not acid-free.
2. Avoid having things that are not acid-free touch the photographs.
3. Use duplicate photos.
4. Mount photos on buffered paper (such as Stampin' Up cardstock) which helps prevent any acid that might be present from travelling to the photos.
It is an individual decision. Each person needs to decide what they are comfortable with in their scrapbooks.

HTH!

Anita

One way to help keep photos safe is to mount them on buffered cardstock (such as Stampin' Up's)
