Default Blender pens

I have heard that you can use glycerine and water to rejuvenate blender pens, but don't know the amounts or instructions. I am a new demonstrator and have a few ladies that love the extra control you have with a blender pen and this info would be very useful.

thanks!

This is what I found in a search:

Blender Pen Refill

8 tsp. Glycerin
1 tsp. rubbing alcohol
5 TBSP. water

Mix above ingredients together.
Remove pen tip and soak overnight in soution.
Put 3 drops in pen hole; replace tip.

Glycerin can be found at your local pharmacy.
Makes a 4 oz. bottle

I found this recipe for Blender pen refills, but haven't tried it yet.

8 tsp. Glycerin
1 tsp. rubbing alcohol
5 TBSP. water

Mix above ingredients together.
Remove pen tip & soak overnight in solution.
Put 3 drops in pen hole;
replace tip.

I don't remember where I got this from, but I think it was somewhere on here. I haven't tried it yet myself, so I'm not sure how well this works.

Yes, I've tried the recipe. It works but not as well as the original fluid that comes in the pen. I find that when using pastels, the colours are fainter, unless you really get a lot of pastel onto the tip.

I've heard that the glycerin solution can go rancid after a while. You know, so many folks are trying to refill them, SU! should look into selling a proper refill solution!

Default Blender pens

I have a question about the blender pens- Can you cut the tip of the pen once it starts to fray? I let a person borrow mine and she practically ruined the pen by pressing to hard. I'm wondering if it's salvageable-

I have never refilled my blender pens, though I know you can. I don't use them very often, but when mine dries up, I just dip the tip in some water before I use it again, and it works great.

I have trimmed mine in the past and have had no problem with them. Just make sure you cut at an angle not a blunt tip.
