Default BooHoo... Prismacolor pencils :(

I broke down and ordered the 120 count Prismacolor pencils from Viking. I've waited and waited because they were on backorder, but they finally arrived today! Yippee!

Oh wait... they were packed in a thin plastic envelope - no bubble wrap or anything. The tin is completely demolished. I have to send them back. :( Thankfully the new ones will be here tomorrow, but I'm worried that they will be damaged, too.

Oh what will I ever do??

I was shocked when mine also arrived in a thin plastic envelope. Fortunately, mine suffered no damage. But, they certainly need to rethink their packaging system.

It is so cool to have 120 different pencils. Even if I don't use them, they are great to look at. Yes, I am a craft geek/collector.

Mine arrived like that too, but I haven't opened the tin yet (typcial with things that "I gotta have"). I'll have to open them tonight and see what's inside.

What a bummer! I know you will be anxiously awaiting the mail tomorrow! I received mine in tip top order so hopefully this second round will be good. I started off using the little sharpener they sent with the 120 pencils but it too forever. I put them in the electric sharpener until the started forming a point and then I stopped and finished them with the little one they sent. They all have beautiful points on them and I managed not to break one of them. It took several hours so set some time aside. They are so colorful and they do smell nice also.

Happy coloring!

Mine also came in just an envelope. The tin was just slightly bent, so now it won't close right. But I don't care, the pencils are beautiful and I will just be careful putting them up and getting them down off the shelf. I also sharpened mine with the electric sharpener and it did great. Then I put them in the order they suggested, that took a little time!! But it's worth it, they are just awesome. Saw the same set in Michaels today for $149!!

Thanks for the post - it made me remember to try again to order the pencils - since they were back ordered, it wouldn't let me place the order & include the $20 off code. So now I have actually placed the order!! Now it's just waiting for them to get here.

I think viking sends things from different distribution centers based on where you live. This may explain the differences in packaging.

Wow, do I feel lucky. Mine were hand delivered. Must be a Viking distributor right near me. I've ordered from them before and literally I get my online order the same day I make it. Suzanne

Isn't it funny how differently everyone's came packaged? Yes, they do ship from different warehouses depending on where you live. The customer service girl I talked to put in a note with the new order to pack them better, but couldn't guarantee that the person packing them at the warehouse would read the note. She is, though, crediting the credit card for the demolished shipment and invoicing the new one... she wants to make sure we get a good product BEFORE we pay for it. That was pretty nice of her.

I really like Viking and their customer service has more to do with it than their prices.
