My mother has asked me to make bookmarks for her bookclub. The name of her club is the Book Bags. Anyone have any brilliant ideas for me.
Thanks

I made a cute little bookmark using the tag punch. Fold a piece of cardstock and punch out the tag leaving the small end uncut Decorate the tag any way you'd like. Then add a piece of magnetic tape to the inside of each tag. When you put it in place in the book, it fits over the page and the magnets keep it in place.

Default purses? decoupage?

Do you have stamps that look like bags? Or even a present stamp that you can ink up, missing the bow? Then draw a handle on it for a bag?? (I have one in Mini Mates that would be perfect. It looks just like a bag, if you skipped the bow). Then you could draw (practice first!) the spine of a book poking out from the bag?

I guess you don't have to relate it to Book Bags. You could simply do something fun or elegant.....nothing related to books.

Oh, just a thought....what about stamping the bookmark with FrenchScript BG stamp which looks like a page from a book, then bend the top of the cardstock so it looks like a dogeared page....also have the words upside down on the dog ear part.

If you don't have an appropiate stamp, you could always rip out pages from books, then decoupage them onto the bookmark. No stamping involved in that. You could highlight certain words with your markers for fun before you apply the Mod Podge.

search the gallery for 'twill bookmark' and you will find several ideas. I just made three this afternoon and think they turned out pretty well. They were fun and easy to make. Even thinking about doing them for the book club I am in

I've seen them make cute bookmarks with magnets on DIY, You take 2 die cuts, maybe a purse ;) and you attach a magnent in betweed the 2 dies. So it would basically sandwich the page. Does this make sense? I tried to do a search on diy and it came up blank. But they are really cute.

I love these bookmarks made using JUMBO paperclips. I've made a bunch of these to swap at leadership.
