Default Brayer & spectrum pads??

Ok I am sure that this has been asked a billion times!! And frankly I am a bit embarrassed that I cannot remember or figure it out!! How do you load the brayer with the spectrum pads to use on glossy paper?? I just get a muddy mess of ink!I am sure there is a way to get those colors on to the glossy? I know it has to do with the how you roll the brayer?? But how???
Cheers & blushing in Red Deer, Alberta!

Smile No More Muddiness

First you can try not pushing your spectrum pad sections together, the colors will come together as you roll the brayer on the cs.

Second (noot being mean or anything) make sure you are inking your brayer w/the width facing the same way as the pad.

HTH

A lot of people have advised to roll just one way to get the ink on to the brayer and not back and fore.HTH

I am a novice at brayering and have the same problem you do. I leave my colors apart but still ends up looking like stripes! Guess I need to practice. I admit I was going back and forth - I will try only going forward. Any other tips out there?

I do push my spectrum together and then just load the brayer carefully (rolling in 1 direction) and fully (very inky). The key is to roll the brayer on the glossy CS really FAST back and forth back and forth allowing it to drift just slightly. This blends the colors so they are not stripes. HTH.

Thanks for the advice! I will try it again! Otherwise that brayer will be in the BST part!
Cheers

Default Brayering is that a word LOL!!!

I agree with all the advice you have been given The most important point though, is to use gloss cardstock or paper. It will look pretty blaaah unless you use gloss paper
