I was just reading a swap thread, and the majority of the posts were "bumps", pages and pages of "bumps." If you have to have 7+ pages of "bumps", then I'm guessing there is no one out there to join. I just spent about 5-10 minutes reading "bump", "bump", "bump".
Sorry, but is that necessary just to put your swap to the top?
I'm with you, Raegan. Just last week I seriously checked out a swap because I really love the technique. Decided not to join because it was being "bumped" every hour.
I can understand bumping once each day or two. But, every hour is WAY too much.

That's exactly my point- I got so fed up, that I was forget it, I'm not joining. There should be a cap limit- 1 a day. There is no reason why it needs to be done more than that.
Just because its pages and pages of "bumps", doesn't mean no one if joining, I've hosted a swap, and it had 4 "bumps" on it and that was it, cause the people that wanted to join pm'd me.

Sounds like you are my kind of hostess. You only bumped the swap four times. The one that I mentioned has bumped the swap about 45 times during the past week. It really, actually, literally, is bumped up every hour. I consider that being rude to the rest of the hostesses.
I know exactly what you are talking about. Even the buy/sell/trade area gets bumped a ton as well. Hello.....!
There should be a rule of some sorts on "bumpings" Like, seriously- one a day if there are no other posts that day in the thread, and if it's violated, than that poster can't post for like a day, and each time the violator violates, the punishment increases- then 2 days without posting.
